jedimaster1227 Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 http://www.etaiwannews.com/etn/news_content.php?id=1192899&lang=eng_news The director of a popular TV action series has unveiled a plan to build a theme park in Kaohsiung modeled on that of Hollywood's Universal Studios, a local report said Tuesday, in what could be a big step forward for Taiwan's entertainment industry."We will build a theme park next to our film studio. It will something like Universal Studios, " said Tsai Yueh-hsun, who is currently turning his award-winning police drama Black and White into a full-length motion picture. "We have already sent people to Universal Studios and other theme parks to learn from their expertise, " the director of Taiwan's first Hollywood-style TV drama said during a recent interview with Taiwan's Chinese-language daily Liberty Times. Tsai estimated that the project, to be located in Kaohsiung where his TV drama is based, will be completed in five to 10 years at a cost of NT$5 billion (US$156 million). He said that his film studio will be opened to other film crews in the future, and he also revealed a plan to construct an underwater studio. Tsai's film, which will incorporate popular 3-D technology, is expected to hit the big screen early next year.
Nosferatu Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Interesting. I wonder if it will include more attractions like rollercoaster, or if it will mainly be something like the tram tours. I think the amount of rides you can get for 156 million is kind of limited. Anyways it will probably add another reason to visit Taiwan.
