technfxrick Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 I'm in the early stages of planning a work trip to asia for next month. (early as in my boss told me last week to start putting costs together, but hasn't granted it yet). If i go i will definitely have to go to Seoul, South Korea, Guangzhou, China, and Tokyo. I also may have to go to Bali, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Couple of questions. 1. Lotte World. I'm like 6'2 1/2 will they let me on Atlantis Adventure, or are they incredible strict. also if i can only do one should i do Everland, or Lotte World, and how long should i plan to budget for them, as i said this is a work trip so credit collecting will be at a minimum, and i want to spend the weekend in Tokyo to hit DisneySea. 2. Any of the other parks in Seoul interesting (Seoul Land, Childrens Grand Park, etc) there looks like there is a total of 9 parks around Seoul, and i want to make sure i hit the best ones. I plan on having about 3 nights, and a full day in Seoul 3. Chimelong Paradise, I plan to go here, how long should it take, and are any of the other smaller parks around Guangzhou worth it. I only plan on having about 2 nights and a half day in Guangzhou. 4. Tokyo, DisneySea is a park i've always wanted to go to, I'm planning on spending a full day here, will this be enough? I will have 2.5 Days (2 of them will be a weekend) and 2 nights in Tokyo. What other parks would be available to make a day trip for from Tokyo. i've thought about Fuji Q (but i haven't heard many good things about the lines from the people on here) or Nagashima. Are either of these day trips on the trains, and if so which would you recommend. Thanks ahead of time for your help, if i did this trip it would be sometime after Feb 10, and i would be back in the US by March 6th
SharkTums Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 1. Lotte World is VERY strict on the height limit on Atlantis. Unfortunetly you will stick out like a sore thumb and most likely be denied. If you can only do one, T-Express at Everland is incredible and should not be missed, but Lotte World is also a very nice park. Lotte World is also IN the city so very easy to get to by subway. Everland will take you longer to get to. 2. Seoul Land is definitely worth a visit, shouldn't take you more than a couple of hours at the most. None of the other Seoul Parks are really worth your time unless you're a true credit whore. Keep in mind depending on time and weather lots of attractions may be closed as it can get quite cold in Seoul during winter. Also, the parks can get incredibly busy. 3. Chimelong is a nice park with some decent rides, definitely a solid half - 3/4 of a day. Again, the rest of the Guangzhou area stuff is not worth it unless you're a whore. I would have sent you to Amazing World in the Mall but I've heard that nearly all the rides and credits are now closed! 4. If you're into Disney and you've always wanted to go, then one day is not enough. Especially if it's on a weekend. I can't imagine going to that resort for less than two days. I prefer four! Fuji Q is a full day trip from Tokyo, Nagashima is 'doable' from Tokyo as a day trip but a VERY long day and I believe you cannot get to Nagashima for opening unless you pay a lot more for the 'Nozomi' Train. Within Tokyo there are a ton of random parks and cool things you can hit. Just take a look at some of our past TR's for a good idea. In Japan, the one thing you'll have to check on is that for a lot of the parks February is the month they're either closed or have the shortest hours. Hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions.
robbalvey Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 1. Lotte World. I'm like 6'2 1/2 will they let me on Atlantis Adventure, or are they incredible strict. also if i can only do one should i do Everland, or Lotte World, They were VERY strict with the height restriction during our visit in 2007 and turned away a few of our riders. We had better luck in 2008, but then again we also did some filming for them so we weren't just "regular guests." I'm not sure how they are now, but I would say that it would be a risk. If I had to choose between the two I would say go ride T Express. It's just amazing. Unless of course you have some weird issue with Intamin Pre-fab woodies, that is. (like if you're one of those people who don't consider them actual woodies.) --Robb
technfxrick Posted January 31, 2010 Author Posted January 31, 2010 Thanks for the fast response, i think i will go to Everland, as i love Intamin Woodies, I just really wanted to try out the AquaTrax. As far as Disney, I like Disney, but i'm not in love with Disney, i just have always heard that DisneySea is the place to go. I am definitely a credit whore, but seeing all of these cities would be 2-3 days at the most, i want to get the most bang for buck so to speak. Once the trip gets closer to being finalized, i'll definitely ask you guys for some more info, it may end up being a 3 week, 2 weekend trip if indonesia and the philippines gets added on, so then i would try to stay the 2nd weekend in Seoul.
