Well, I just thought that a few of you might be interested in viewing this.

I am making Xcelerator at Knott's Berry Farm out of knex. The scale is 1:15. I have been making coasters for a very long time so I definitely have the skill. All i have done is the launch right now.

As you can see, the launch is at a slight angle just like the real thing. I even did some math and discovered that if the launch was real, the it would do 135mph in .4 seconds! :o

The launch

The angle

The hinge I used

And even a test video!

So, Tell me what you think!

Also, The images are huge for some reason. I tried to resize the on PhotoBucket but they stayed the same... So, Sorry about that...

This looks pretty cool so far, but Accelerator is 205 feet tall. If my calculations are correct(I kind of suck at math though) then the coaster will be 13 feet tall. How are you going to make it this tall? Also, to scale it you divide 205 by fifteen, correct?

Looks awesome. I see you used a Jesper-style launch.

How long is the launch track? It seems way too short, even though the real ride's launch track is pretty short. Keep the height but make it longer (then the angle wont be quite so steep).

EDIT: Oops, its not a Jesper. Sorry!

Yeah, its just a drill launch.

Also, I guess I did my scaling wrong. One unit (A granite rod) on this coaster is 15ft on the real coaster. So, this will roughly be about 4 feet. This will hopefully be made automatic by using a snap switch and a relay.

Also, I was trying the launch with a weighted train, and the chain did shred! I laughed so hard!

Hahaha!!! I about died when I read this! Looks like when you make a recreation you make sure to make every little bit of it real! Anywho... so far so good! Cant wait to see the final product!
