KDCOASTERFAN Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Here's my latest project in NL,Banshee a B&M floorless. Track work is complete, still working on supports though & I may consider making changes to the final straight section between the flat spins & the brakerun. overview of Banshee's course
dr.gumbo Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 You need to straighten the middle of that lift hill.
KDCOASTERFAN Posted August 7, 2009 Author Posted August 7, 2009 You need to straighten the middle of that lift hill. I know,I've gotta split up the segments first.
Mr. Starr Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Were you aiming for a Medusa/Bizzaro type layout?
KDCOASTERFAN Posted August 7, 2009 Author Posted August 7, 2009 Were you aiming for a Medusa/Bizzaro type layout? Not exactly because Bizzaro's lift is at an angle to the left side of the station but I decided simply to go with the typical arrangement of B&M elements in the standard order. I recently completed the supports & took a few more screens, just gotta re-size & post them along with the track file for download....I tried straightening the lift but couldn't do it without messing up the whole ride so it's gonna have a slight slope to it but it just adds more character to the coaster.
KDCOASTERFAN Posted August 8, 2009 Author Posted August 8, 2009 Here is the track for download.I spent a great deal of time today working on the supports & smoothening out the track. Banshee.nltrack
KDCOASTERFAN Posted August 8, 2009 Author Posted August 8, 2009 Any reviews yet? I see that there've been 14 downloads so far.
dr.gumbo Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 You said you would straighten the lift out? The ride was 'very' pumpy if I'm honest. You had inaccurate and inconsistent shaping throughout and the forces were ridiculous. Also, the support work was very poor. You should look at real life rides and see how they are shaped and supported because it would help you improve your rides greatly.

I tried straightening the lift but it messed up the station & when I split it into multiple segments it still messed up near the top.I know that the supports need work but it's still a learning process on switching between the different types & this was my first attempt at a looping ride after all but thanks for the comments anyway.
themeparkman25 Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 I think overall the layout was fairly fun and had a good selection of elements, so I did enjoy that. But you need to just slow down when building and dont just build for the sake of building. There are very very noticeable pumps in the track that I find hard to believe you tried to smooth. My advice to you is just slow down, maybe download some of the really good ones and try your own off that. Keep trying, it is a difficult program to get used to.

I only spent a couple days on that layout & definitely noticed the pumps in the dive loop so I smoothened it out before uploading but I couldn't do too much with the turn between the two flat spins, sorry that the supports were so bad on the loop though.
themeparkman25 Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 ^I didn't say anything about the supports in the loop haha.
KDCOASTERFAN Posted August 8, 2009 Author Posted August 8, 2009 ^I didn't say anything about the supports in the loop haha. True but after really looking at it last night & comparing it to some of the others I've seen it looks pretty bad IMO & can be improved on my next coaster. I'll try my luck with either an invert,or a rocket & see how well that goes.Pics will be posted in the preview thread.
