NewEnglandCoasters102.0
OK, I know this is pretty late. But I’ve been busy lately, and haven’t had a lot of time to get this on the server. This is also my first PTR, so I was pretty slow uploading pictures, etc. I got lucky--everything was running good today. Pandemonium was awesome--the best I've ever ridden it. Thunderbolt kicked A$$ in the back row, as usual. Batman was GREAT in both the front and the back and the rattle on the last corkscrew has gone down a lot, if that’s even possible. Bizarro is so *OMFG AMAZING* that Six Flags could open a separate theme park for it—no joke! And at night, Bizarro is INSANE!! Cyclone was really good! A little rattle before the 4th hill but still a great ride—very underrated, in my opinion. The one exception to the trend of rides doing well was Mind Eraser. Mind Eraser was the worst I’ve ever seen it. I got hit in a very private area on Mind Eraser for the first time today—not fun at all. I did not get to ride Flashback today, but I assume it’s the same, as the line for it was relatively short from what I saw. And today was a beautiful day to be at the park (for the first time I’ve ever seen, Hurricane Harbor reached maximum capacity for about an hour!). All in all, it was a great day. Maybe I’ve just been away from the park for too long, but it seems like SFNE has gotten better since I left. It seemed a little cleaner, the rides were running better, it was fantastic. If you haven’t gotten out there yet—or ever—you should, if possible. Anyway, on to the photos... EDIT: Something happened to the pictures, I suggest you look at them from the bottom up...sorry. If you can find a SFNE Photo TR that doesn’t have this sign in it, EMAIL DAN! (just kidding!) Standard issue park entrance photo. This picture would be nothing without that tree blocking the rest of the midway. Stupid tree. First ride of the day was Cyclone! Don’t be fooled! Cyclone is actually a STEEL COASTER!!!! As you can clearly see there was no line whatsoever. I was surprised. This is a great coaster! Just be sure to ride in the front row… M&Ms DON’T: Don’t fall asleep on Cyclone! Next up was… The most organized roller coaster in the park. I’m glad that Time Warp is gone. That thing was awful. If you never got to ride it you aren’t missing anything. This picture is a little dark...oh well. Pandemonium was running GREAT today! I think it’s even smoother than it used to be. Am I really the only one who enjoys both of these coasters? More Flashback. You didn’t really think I was done with Flashback and Cyclone pictures, did you? And now, the real reason I came here today… Tattoos! The tattoo parlor was conveniently located right next to Bizarro. Some fog tunnel/LED light action. At first I was kind of disappointed with this ride. The effects were nice and the roller coaster was still AWESOME, but it seemed like the ride itself didn’t deliver like the old Superman used to. However, it warmed up a LOT later in the day, and it was *AMAZING!* I really think the makeover made it better. Another view of the new tunnel. This was easily one of the coolest parts of the ride (pun intended!) and felt GREAT as today it was HOT out! Bizarro, Joker’s Wildcard, and two random dudes staring off into space. GAME OVER, MAN!! GAME OVER!!! This ride has a killer audio track. It’s very well paced, and the random Will Ferrell quotes don’t break the theming too much. In case you couldn’t tell, the primary focus of the day was Bizarro! This isn’t just any ordinary danger...this is EXTREME danger. Scream from DC Superhero Adventures...for all you “Scream from DC Superhero Adventures” enthusiasts. Today was a BEAUTIFUL day to be taking pictures of roller coasters! TAKE THE TUNNEL!!!!! BIZARRO #1!!!!!! I wonder how our Bizarro compares to the one at Six Flags Great Adventure? Bizarro through the trees. Before... After. And now, for some shots that everybody already has. How original. Oooh, a twist on the classic tunnel shot. FIIIIIIRE!!!! BIZARRO SMASH!!!! Okay, enough quoting the audio for now. Nothing to see here, people, just move along...stop taking pictures... Scream from Wiggles World...for all you “Scream from Wiggles World” enthusiasts. Stupid tree. Even SFNE isn’t complete without some concussions. Unbelievable contrast in quality here. My friend who has NEVER RIDDEN this monstrosity (or any other Vekoma) once said “I’m not doing that, that looks like it hurts.” I still crack up just thinking about it. High score of the day...ZERO?! COME ON, PEOPLE!! After Chuck Norris tried The Works he was still hungry. Nothing satisfies Chuck Norris. Not even an extremely underrated B&M Floorless. Don’t let its size fool you...both of these elements have a nice little pull in the back row. Don’t be so mayo. Two amazing roller coasters. Now it gets REALLY interesting! Bizarro...at night. This picture didn’t turn out as good as I hoped it would...but here it is anyway. Ahh, that’s much better! They put this “Fun-O-Meter” in the station. At the end of the ride, the riders screamed as loud as they could and tried to get it to go as high as possible. I witnessed “Six Flags” a couple of times today, and it is LOUD. I still like it, though. FIIIIIRE!!! Hell, or Bizarro’s 2nd tunnel? A final picture of Scream. The carousel. Did I mention that at night, SFNE park guests turn into ghosts? SCORE!! A NON-BLURRY PICTURE!!! YES!!! Six Flags Over Massachusetts. And a final picture of the park at night.
nitrofan
Great PTR! Was this park built by the same people who built SFA?
odene497
Thanks for the photos! I really love SFNE, it might be my favorite Six Flags park. It's such a beautiful place, and while it doesn't have a huge amount of coasters, what they do have are some really great ones. And about the photo order, just follow the uploading directions and put them in the order you want them to appear. When you preview, it does flip them to make it look backwards, but when you post, they'll be right again.
NewEnglandCoasters102.0
Great Photo TR! Was this park built by the same people who built SFA? I'm not sure. If you mean this in the sense of construction companies, then probably not due to the differing locations. On the other hand, they are both SF parks...sorry I can't be more helpful odene497: I agree it's a great place. Looking back, I wish I had taken more pictures of the actual park, instead of spending 15 minutes taking pictures of Bizarro! (Speaking of pictures, thanks for the help with the uploading )
nitrofan
^Neither of them were actually built by Six Flags. All but three (SFOT, SFOT, SFStL) were purchased later by the company. I was just asking because SFNE and SFA appear to have nearly identical entrances.
NewEnglandCoasters102.0
Six Flags probably renovated the parks when they bought them. That might explain it, cause the same design crew probably would have worked on both parks.
