Angry_Gumball Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 As much as I had the camera with me, I was much too lazy to pull it out not to mention I was completely wet pretty much the whole day. So, to get things started... We got to the park around 2:00 after getting off work and grabbing lunch. My cousin and I decide to do our traditional Flight Deck/Top Gun ride, running in 2 train mode this time. Last visit a couple months ago, there was only 1 train. I noticed that by the corkscrew there was some kind of row boat/motor boat harnessed to the support. Also, a worthy mention, the CD Ride system is gone, and they replaced it with a still camera on the first drop. So you can now purchase onride photos. All amped up, we headed on over to Boomerang bay for the first time out of the 3 seasons I've been going. I was finally prepared. So we ditched the stuff in the locker and off to the slides we went! Climbing into former Stealth's station, I can still see where the track was (filled in with cement) and where the air gates were at (also patched in with cement). The first thing to hit up was the Thunder Down Under slide. For those who don't know, TDU is a 'Boomerango' slide where you go down a steep drop, and up a wall, then back down and over a small hump. This thing's an airtime machine. We were airborne coming down that drop, and airborne from the crest of the small hump to about 2/3 of the way down...landed with a hard thump and bonked our heads into each other. Back up the stairs for the tube slide. This wasn't as intense but it did have it's moments and shot you out pretty fast into the run. This was a smooth-gliding ride in the almost dark (really dark yellow/orange). Getting some exercise, we go back up again for the family raft slide. My cousin came down backwards the entire time and panicked...pretty funny. From this point, we were pretty wet and decided to take a spin in the lazy river, and then into the wave pool. Thank God for heated water! So now time to hit up some rides. Back over to the lockers to grab our phones and head on over to Grizzly and Drop Tower area where we met up with the user KGA forgot the rest of his name (It was nice meeting you BTW!). Just starting to dry off after riding Demon (which had an actual line) and stuff we headed back over to the water park again for a few more slides. I still have yet to hit up the Screaming Wombat and the other one (The former Manteca slides) as my shorts would have stuck to it. One last spin in the lazy river again before we call it a day in Boomerang Bay (rhyme not intentional). With a couple hours left, we make another round and do Demon and then over to Vortex where I got stuck in the brake run hearing a nice earful of general public comments. I also got the joy of watching someone lose their stuffed animal on the Firefall. Time is coming close to closing and we wrap things up on Flight Deck. All in all, the park is seeing much more people compared to last season with slightly longer lines. There are a lot of families there, a few teens, and a few young adults (my age). Now, I'm wishing that I snapped some photos but was too lazy. Didn't feel like stuffing a camera into a pocket that is still wet from the water park. So that pretty much sums it up. Hoping soon to see some land clearing for that new Woodie if that falls through.
KGA29 Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 I saw you and rode Drop Tower with you!!! I will upload all of my pictures tomorrow.
Sunfire Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Aw, it stinks that neither of you saw me working. I was at Invertigo for most of the morning, and at Berserker in the afternoon. If you want to say hi, look for Matthew near Invertigo.
Angry_Gumball Posted June 16, 2009 Author Posted June 16, 2009 Ok, what's this about fluffy, fluffy bunnies filled with medicine and goo? I don't recall typing that, lol... Edit: Nevermind, TPR has a filter to block the term loc-ker (remove hyphen) with this phrase due to SF's storage unit with locking doors policy. ^We thought you would have been working White Water Falls and rode that a couple times. What happened with Invertigo, I saw some people stuck on the second lift for quite a while.
Sunfire Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 I was off by 3:00 that day so I never knew that happened.
