burningstroller Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 This is my first trip report so I'll keep it REAL short. Left Boston Friday night, headed to Jersey for the first park run of the season. Six Flags in the morning, got there at 10:30. Bought and processed AP's. Stood in El Toro station waiting for "10 more people" to show up so they could run the coaster. This didnt happen. Left and headed to the front of the park. It is now 11:30. Was then informed that the park was closing. Weekend over. No Flags, No fun. 200 for passes, 15 for parking, 2 nights at hotel, gas, and the multitude of liquor that was consumed shortly after leaving the park. Waste o' money.
SharkTums Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 Oh no, not another one!!! Should we maybe just merge this with the other 4/11 SFGAd TR? To sum it up, sorry you had a bad time. Wasn't much the park could do, bad weather kept people away, no people = no business = no flags! At least you got your passes processed so you're ready for the season!
rawrtotheargh Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 Should we maybe just merge this with the other 4/11 SFGAd TR? PLEASE DO!!! No need for another storm of useless bickering. But good point about the season pass. So it wasn't a complete waste of time. You have to look at the positives.
burningstroller Posted April 12, 2009 Author Posted April 12, 2009 My bad, didn't read the other posts. Irritated because, yes I knew there was a "chance of rain". But I would assume a major park at the kickoff of spring break would remain open regardless. I've been to BGE many times in the pouring rain and they've stayed open all day. And yes, I know, this isnt BGE. Mainly pissed because it's not like the park is right down the street. It's a good 5 hour ride (if I dont hit a clusterfuck on the cross Bronx). But really, closing due to low attendence? At least lie to us and say it's due to weather. Does the mall close if no one shows up? Does Disneyland close if there is low turnout? Oy. Ok, sorry, close thread.
SharkTums Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 ^LOL! Our mall actually did that!!! Security kicked everyone out saying they were closing early due to no one shopping! (This is a major WestField Mall btw!) And now since then, they have shortened the hours by one hour each day! Thanks for understanding, I'll close this thread, and we can continue to bicker and discuss Cheese in the other thread!
