Hey, I was wondering if anybody had been on both of these coasters to see if there is much difference between the overall experience as both of them have practically the same layout!

I have been on both and I would say my 1996 - 1999 rides on Megafobia were VERY comperable to Ramage to the point where I would tie them, but my 2002 and 2006 rides on Megafobia were a bit weaker in comparison.

Both rides are VERY similar with Rampage being slightly taller and faster in some areas.

Ah, Thanks for the view rob! (Teheh I feel all giddy inside now! THE robbalvey has just replied to one of my posts )

Any reasons to why your 2002 and 2006 rides were weaker in comparison with Rampage?

^ The ride just seem to run 'sluggish'. I remember when Megafobia first opened (and I was out there several times between '96 and '99) it really had a lot of POWER in it. And the last few visits it just seemed to meander around the track. It was still "good" it just wasn't "GREAT!"

I've only been on Megafobia in 2002 and 2006 (same times as Robb).

I was really looking forward to it as I really like Rampage a lot!!

I was really underwhelmed. Like Robb said, it's a good ride, but I never rode it when it "had" power. Both ERT's I've been on were morning, and both days (temperature wise) were fairly mild.

I do remember one small hill (just before the on-ride photo) where you come out of your seat, up and right, and the train dips down to the left. Other than that, the sheep were more interesting.

Rampage I just love. *I* find it to be quite powerful, and a great wild out of control ride, with only one hill (the Ted Ansley hill) that always seems like you should be getting airtime, but just NEVER delivers. Other than that, it's awesome.

Still sits in my top 10 at #9.

Going to have to give the edge to Rampage as well. Megafobia did not deliver on what I thought it could do in 2006. Like others have said, it seemed very sluggish, even in the afternoon. Rampage did run very well, though it has been years since I've been on it, and I look forward to trying it again this year.
