Now that's a great picture!

Hope you all enjoyed this TR and my best to you this holiday season. Thank you. :)

For some reason the artsy-ness of the copper kettles spoke to me. This is another shot I really like.

Do I even have to say it? ;) Robb, if you please...

I'm really glad we did this trip. The folks and I had a wonderful time.

Jokes aside, the friendly staff, the decor, the food, it all put me in the Christmas spirit. It was even better to share it with my family.

How DID they train those fireflies? That's just bloody amazing!

The lighted ceiling fan was pretty.

The white, red, and green butts, didn't do half bad either.

That's not a tree. Those are really well trained fireflies...with blue butts.

See what I mean about the Opryland vibe?

The carousel made me think of Beemer and some of his friends.

I liked this Lionel or O Gauge train layout at the store near the train depot. Sadly, this is the only picture that came out. Conversly, there were some neat copper mugs that I hadn't seen before.

I'd been looking forward to this all day long and wondered how it would stack up to Hershey's Candy Lane Christmas.

The sun was going down, and the lights were coming on.

Awesome Pictures Michael! Definately shows how awesome Dollywood is. I agree that there will always be plenty of reasons to head back to the Pigeon Forge area.

Here is the story about spotting Michael on the train. The four of us were heading for the carnival area just after seeing Babes in Toyland to do the Dizzy Disk and carousel, and as we walked by the train as it was just taking off from the station, I saw a guy on the train with a video camera filming the ride in POV mode. He had the same clothes on as Michael had described, so I guessed it was him, and so I sent him a text asking if he was on the train taking video. When the train came back, and I spotted him again, we were on the carosuel at the time, and I don't think they would have been so keen on me hopping right off, so it wasn't until a bit later in the afternoon that we caught up with each other.

Definately glad to chat for the bit, and would certainly love to do it again sometime!

DW really is the place to be at Christmas. Hopefully you tried out the cinnamon bread from the Old Mill and also the peppermint cocoa near the giant skillets. Yes the skillets totally rock!

Fortunately we have Shane's Amusement Attic to authenticate the Gatlinburg Space Needle from an old Intamin catalog: click.

Great photo TR Sir Rapids. I didn't want it to end!

I so missed that. The regular cocoa (right at the skillets) was tasty, so this had to be good too. Thank you for the kind words and, you have the right idea. I didn't want the trip to end either!

LOL! Gary that's a great story. I think we hit Babes in Toyland after the train ride and that's about the time the rains really hit. I got out about 30 minutes before you and was down at Smoky Mountian Rampage and it kept raining harder and harder. Then my phone goes off, so I have my camera in one hand (which is already pretty wet) and my Blackberry in the other, and I dashed under some roof that had picnic tables near the rapids. The rain is blowing in, so the BB is getting wet, and I'm trying to text one handed. Meanwhile this table of 2 or 3 people, the only other ones under the roof, are looking at me like I'm crazy. That's when I said "See you there. @ rapids now. On my way". I trekked back to the main entrance and around to Thunderhead, only to find Mystery Mine closed. The rain let up some, so I texted you back with Thunderhead and hit the Mystery Mine gift shop next door to get out of the rain.

While I was killing time filming the train, I hear some guy beside me say "So are you going to post that?". I look over at this grinning guy and his friends and see something Gary described to me he was wearing and chuckled. Good times, good times.

Thank heaven for North Face outdoor pants, Keen shoes, and Real Tree shell jackets, otherwise I'd have been so soaked! Camera and phone ended up being just fine, which is amazing.

Yes, a comical and fun day and WELL worth the trip.
