DandAyr Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 Our summer break included a visit to the two theme parks in Yorkshire. A return (after about 15years) to Lightwater Valley and a first time visit to Flamingo land. This mini photo TR is the coasters on offer and what seems to be a competition between them for the most painful ride All just my opinion of course, but I bet many agree! The Ultimate v Corkscrew (not got all coasters - got so tired in the LWV Rat queue, forgot to take a picture) Enjoy. Kumali - a nice smooth suspended coaster wild mouse and its wonderful colours the bike was fun - just make sure you dont get pressed in too hard. old meets modern Corkscrews peak head bash point - how can anyone say the one at Alton is rough, this is THE rough corkscrew in the UK, and its slow Flamingo lands coaster of pain heads up its lift hill and for variety throw in a runaway mine train for the kids Flamingo Land went for Dragons instead of bugs The twister - just right on the spin front, not too much for those that dont like spins on a coaster grizzly bear - this was a laugh, a family friendly coaster. its about to drop you to a painful run through the valley - I am 6ft 4 and the forces bash my legs against the sides and next day bruised just to reveal its actually steel - and The Ultimate has more horrors to come wooden trestle coaster draws you in Caterpillar flashes past Ladybird in full flow they like their bugs at lightwater valley
larrygator Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 Well The Ultimate beats up your body while Corkscrew gives you the head shots.
itnotfair Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 I've never heard of any of these parks, so its a treat to see the coasters they offer. So the SLC was the smoothest of the bunch? From what I hear, that's rather unusual. Painful or not, I'd love to hit that. All of it. Cool TR. Cheers!
Wood Dragon 1988 Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 I've heard mixed things about Kumali. It is newer, and is a not the "standard" SLC though. Hopefully I will get to ride it for myself next fall!
