thrillgeek Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 So it was my mom's 1st time back to the park since I was born. About 19 years she says so I was excited to see what she thought of the park now. I'm not much into writing alot so I'm just going to highlight a few key points from the trip. The good: 1. The park seemed crowded at 1st but really wasn't bad at all 2. The ride ops were really quick and friendly 3. Boomerang Bay was a great way for my mom to relax 4. We found $10 dollars in the arcade 5. I talked my mom into getting a pass The bad: 1. Multiple technicle dificulties 2. The Ed Alonzo magician was kind of rude 3. Invertigo was down both days 4. Nothing to do with the park but our hotel was so hot at night that I got very little sleep for our 2nd day. That's about all of the main points from the 2 days. Now onto the pics! Here we are. At the end of our adventure Poor firefall riders. They got stuck like this for at least 20 min =( This is what happens to people if they can't ride drop Zone! They go CRAZY!!! Be scared be very scared!! Haunt construction has officially begun!!! All the wood for the haunted house!! Pic of us on the top level of Columbia This employee was dancing before the magic show started to entertain the crowd. Give this guy a raise!!! This is the fullest the parking lot ever got both days. It was great!! I guess everyone else was at SFDK This was a fun little game in the arcade Mandatory shot with Sponge Bob =D These guys were on top of Drop Zone all day working on it. I know I know. Overdone but I had to include it.
Angry_Gumball Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 I was just there on the 10th and was pretty light crowd-wise...though the parking lot was much fuller. What exactly happened with the Ed Alonzo guy being rude? I actually enjoyed the show enough to see it 3 times just to watch people's reactions...I wish that maybe each show, he mixed in some different tricks to add some variation. I may be heading out there again within the next couple weeks as we're trying to get a coworker meetup set up. They're already starting construction on Carnevil? I could swear I saw the bumper cars running on Sunday when I went...atleast, seeing sparks coming from the metal grating ceiling...did not even see that creepy character.
Jew Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 2. The Ed Alonzo magician was kind of rude That's part of his act. He's awesome.
thrillgeek Posted August 15, 2008 Author Posted August 15, 2008 Here, I'll explain the rude part. On our 1st day there we decided to go see the show. This is the day the employee was dancing for us prior to the show starting. So he comes out, makes a girl appear in a box. Than she comes out and he makes her disappear. Than when he tried to talk but his microphone wasn't working. So he yelled technical difficulties and stormed off back stage. Than he came out with a different mic that still didn't work. He than proceeded to run back stage and get a loud speaker. He yelled at the top of his lungs, "Technical difficulties!! Show is cancelled!" All of this took about 15 min of him running back and forth from on stage and off. We ended up seeing the whole show the 2nd day and his performance was much better. I just wish he could have told us right away that the show was cancelled instead of having us wait out there for 15 min just sitting there thinking it was all an act.
