The Alex Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 Hey gang, I'm heading out to BGE later this week (Wednesday, Thursday-ish?) and I'm wondering if some of the expert TPR...ers... can give me some, if not any help! I just want any tips or advice I can get. My dad and I will be hitting up Griffon first since it's the big shiny new ride, but any suggestions on queue tips/parkgoing? Thanks, I'll post a PTR later. Alex! :]
griffon Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 with all due respect to the Griffon, I've had great success heading to Apollo as soon as the park opens. It tends to get the bigger crowds later, but on a Wednesday/ Thursday you should have plenty of time to do everything. I wouldn't worry too much about a master plan to beat the crowds, just have a good time. Other than coasters, I would strongly recommend eating as much food as possible, attending beer school as many times as they will let you sign up, and also go through the wildlife section outside of New France. Sometimes they bring out eagles, snakes, talking birds, and other interesting animals which is something that really makes the park unique. 1
cfc Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 BGE does offer "Quick Queue," which gets you "priority boarding" on all the coasters, along with DarKastle, Corkscrew Hill, Escape from Pompeii, and Kinetix ($24.95--$19.95 if you're a passholder). But I'd be surprised if you need it on a weekday. I'd still hit Griffon first, then work my around to Apollo's Chariot (make Loch Ness Monster your last coaster). If the line isn't too long, take the second leg of the skyride from France to Germany--it gets you "up close and personal" with Griffon and Alpengeist. Your longest wait of the day will probably end up being Corkscrew Hill.
NegaDuck Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 Griffon and cfc offer some good advice, they're spot on - also, you can take a look at the Theme Park Insider BGW page that serves as a wiki of information (including ride order strategy) located HERE. Also, I uploaded a map for you if you want to get an idea of how the layout works, and match that up to what Theme Park Insider recommends HERE. Hope you guys have a blast! Take care.
bgeguy Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 Just to let you know, Griffon's chain snapped on Saturday, and there is a slight possibility that it may be closed, as the chain is supposedly coming from B&M themselves in Switzerland. it should be up and running by then, but I'm just letting you know.
The Alex Posted July 30, 2008 Author Posted July 30, 2008 I checked the BGE website and Griffon will be down until the 4th.. which means I'll be missing one awesome credit. But I'm going to BGE today! If anybody from TPR is going to be there, hunt me down! I'm wearing a red shirt, khaki shorts, and a stupid coasterorgy look on my face. Just scream ALEXX or something and I'll turn around. Kthanksbye post a report later! Alex
