Markieb Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 If I were placed in a position to make a judgment I would have to go with the family. People go to parks and are excited and pumped with adrenaline. They are looking at the sights, smelling the food, not reading signs. If the weight factor is that significant on this ride then the park should weight people in line or the boats should be weighed full before they are sent off. I just can't blame the family for missing a sign, fat or not.
Jumboshrmp Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 I went to this park and rode this slide the day before the accident happened. It was my first time on that slide. What a coincidence that this happens the next day. Black Thunder, the slide where the accident happened, is an enclosed 45 ft tall ProSlide Tornado. I remember seeing the weight limit sign, it was in plain view right before getting on the ride. I'm going back to the park today, I'll tell you guys if the lifeguards are doing anything differently. http://www.rapidswaterpark.com/html/black_thunder.html
