I've been wandering what are the things in the track before a "Hill-mini brake" (Sorry,I don't know what is the real term). Here's a picture of CW's Behemoth, you will see what I'm trying to point out with this picture.

Thanks.

Are you asking about the little thing sticking up with the green thing on the end?

That's a proximity sensor. It senses the speed of the train so the brake can engage. If the train is traveling a certain speed, the brake will slow it down to what the park sets.

Brakes placed throughout the ride like that are called trims. The brake segment before the helix is either called a block brake or a mid-course brake run (MCBR).

Those little notches? Those are like for maintenance of the track and such. Makes it a lot easier to climb over a slippery smooth B&M track.

Thank you so much,I really appreciate it!

Goliath at SFMM has those things, too. In fact, that was the first coaster I noticed them on.

But, Giovanola and B&M are distant cousins, so...

I saw these notches on Goliath at La Ronde too,I didn't find a picture with these notches,so I searched coasters on RCDB and I found a good one.

Speaking of those maintenance handle thingamagigs, I've rarely seen a B&M with them, except for Behemoth and Goliath at LaRonde. The first time I saw them was on Giovanola's Goliath and Titan. I wonder why they decided to add them. Maybe they add them if the track happens to go over water or something. That's my only guess.

Goliath at La Ronde doesn't go over the water.I think B&M was right to put these notches before the trims because the park who own "a certain B&M coaster" doesn't have to call a company for a truck/machine.
