DancingDays Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 Well, in a couple of weeks I'm planning on heading up to the Wisconsin Dells for a day (probably Tuesday or Wednesday) with some friends to go to Mt. Olympus and make a quick stop for Avalanche, and was just wondering what lines would be like and whether anyone had any tips on the best days to go, etc....
outlaw Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 Crowds exist in the Dells? Anyday is a good day to go to the Dells, crowds are never too heavy, but like any park, most likely it will be busiest on weekends. Take advantage of the twilight admission at Timberfalls to get unlimited rides on Avalanche for cheap. You'll want to ride it several times, so its worth buying an unlimited ride wristband, but go at night to get the low priced twilight price. Have fun at the Dells, I'm going myself next Monday, I'm hoping that the new Robocoaster will be open before then, but I have not heard how construction on it is going. It would be interestign to try out that ride.
DancingDays Posted July 6, 2005 Author Posted July 6, 2005 When does the Twilight session begin/end, and how much is the cost? Do you know if these sessions are held every day, because I can't find that info on the Timber Falls website. Thanks for the advice, though...and I'm glad that there shouldn't be much by way of lines...because if the lines were supposed to be long at Mt. Olympus, I probably would've just changed the trip to Indiana Beach, ...
outlaw Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 I'm not exactly sure when it starts/ends, maybe someone else knows exactly? I just know this exists from friends who have been there, and some TR's I've read. You may see a long line for Hades, but the rest of the park shouldn't be too bad at all. They have increased their attendance a lot, mostly thanks to the merging with the other properties neighboring the theme park. Everyone wants to ride Hades, so expect a long queue for it, but you may just luck out based on how motivated the workers are at dispatching the train. If they are moving fast ,the lines aren't too bad, but if they are running Deja Vu style, the line will be held up and create a queue time of a 1/2 hour.
benzo41190 Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 You will be fine.... Are you going on the slides, or just the Carts and Coasters. The water slides (if you wanted to go on all of them) would take you about 2 hours. I mean if you do all of the water slides. During the week lines are like 5-20 minuets for Hades, 0-15 for the other coasters (when i go there but I only go on Thurs). You should have time for everthing at least once or twise(remember, it all depends on what you do. Then since the twilight begins at 5:00 I believe, if you finish MT. Olympus ealry you could go on the other rides that are at the Dells Disko, Skysraper, and extreme park. ive been on Hades 100 times so far and it is very fun, you will have fun. If you have anymore questions, just ask.
