PS3 Game Selection Help

I'm buying a PS3 in the near future and I am a huge racing game fan. I have been browsing the racing games for PS3 and they all seem awesome. So I'm asking for your advice on PS3 racing games. The 2 I seem to be stuck between is Gran Turismo 5 Prolouge, and Grid. Are these games any good? And other racing game suggestions would be appreciated.

 

I also plan on buying the new Grand Theft Auto game because we all know that game owns .

 

And I also need help decideing between Skate and Tony Hawks project 8.

 

Any advice would be appreciated as for I would like to insight on the game before I dish 60 bucks for it.

I have every Tony Hawk game in the main series except for Proving Ground and I was dissapointed with Project 8. It's an ok game, but some the difficulty balance is way off. Each goal has 3 levels, the first one is always very easy, the middle one is somewhat easy and the last one is almost impossible. Some of the objectives are also very fusturating. I wouldn't pay more than $20 for it.

 

For racing games, all I have is Ridge Racer 7. It's a fun game especially if you are a fan of the series but it's kind of repetitive.
