spaceace12 Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 Yesterday at Six Flags St. Louis, I was trying to take a picture and the camera just froze up. I turned th power on then off a couple times and did nothing. I tried the reset on the bottom of my camera, and it reset it but got a error message saying my memory card is not useable. I switched memory cards and took the battery pack out and back in. It took pictures, but the word "clock" is solid when not taking a pictures and flashes when I do. I am thinking it might be a internal clock battery is bad, but I didn't see any place for a battery to be replaced at. My camera is a Nikon d70s Dslr.
coasterdude28 Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 Sounds strange. I would contact Nikon Support. I'm sure you can find a number or email address on their website. Also check your manual if you still have it. It may say what to do in this situation. to be safe, I would transfer all of your images from your memory card to computer before you loose them. Maybe clearing out your memory card would help as well. Good luck.
spaceace12 Posted April 7, 2008 Author Posted April 7, 2008 I don't think the memory card is the issue because I changed memory cards and it worked fine with the exception the date stamp on the pic file saying 2005. I am going to try to find time to call Nikon soon, hopefully I don't have to send it in because I need it in a month because I got a race and Indiana Beach opening day to take pics at (my small camera would do for IB, but not the race).
mcjaco Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 ^ I'd se if you could send it in. Canon had my camera back to me within ten days. Of course, it was a covered issue.
spaceace12 Posted April 7, 2008 Author Posted April 7, 2008 I went to my local shop and they think it might be I need to reset the time/date on the camera since I did a master reset.
spaceace12 Posted April 10, 2008 Author Posted April 10, 2008 So I tried the setting the time/date once, and apparently didn't save it because when I did it last night, it saved and clock stopped flashing. Whew, saved myself the hassle of calling Nikon Tech Support.
