Marcus Sheen Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 I have searched and searched and can't find that this has been posted. Channel 4 in the UK do idents (ie, where the channel number comes up on screen before a programme starts) where various objects come together to form the number 4. Here are some examples so you can see the Knotts one in context: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=_9PhF2S5UVk http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=jGniDcglBHM&feature=related http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=cgnIyBQ-mD8&feature=related They've always been really clever, but there is a new one I saw posted on another forum that has footage from on board Jaguar at Knotts with various scenery (both real and computer generated) from Knotts coming together to form the number 4. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=bZEbv7tTVnk&NR=1 The number 4 is formed at about 25 seconds. Blink and you'll miss it. Just thought it was pretty clever and relevant to you as I know a lot of you visit Knotts.
Shockwave Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 I remember seeing that a while ago at about 3am one morning, but it's not been on over Xmas with all the festive promo stuff the channels puts out. All their ident stuff is very well done.
haiderodes Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 I looked through a few of these idents, and I have to say they are really cool! Much better than anything I have seen here in the states.
DenDen Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 I love the creativity of European (and Japanese) television. Thanks for sharing, good find!
KrakenKing Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Yeah, it seems like many places besides the US are very creative with things such as this. Wow, we're boring, ha.
Louise Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Awesome!!!! I LOVE the Channel 4 idents, they're one of my favourite little media items, much more ingenious (and far less annoying) than the BBC's tapdancing wheel-chair acrobatics ones. Very very cool, I'd never seen the Knott's one before!
Purplepills Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 I remember seeing this one, and noticing it was Knott's. the weird thing is I have only seen it once, but seen the others a lot more.
