Sue Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 We had 2 free days at Busch Gardens this time due to the bad experience we had in 2006 where they told us nothing would be closed, yet Kumba was closed for painting. It's still one of our favorite parks in the US with 2 excellent steel coasters in Montu and Kumba, plus lots of turtle displays. Sunday was our relaxing day spend with our friends, Bill and Jill, and Monday was our crazy riding day. It's a rare sight these days, but on Sunday Gwazi was actually running 2 trains on each side and dueling just about every time. Ride Count Montu: 54 Kumba: 8 Sheikra: 3 Scorpion: 2 Cheetah Chase: 1 Gwazi Tiger: 2 Gwazi Lion: 3 Train: 1 Here's a few pictures: Our #1 steel coaster, Montu: The spot where we got engaged: Sheikra: Jungala construction: Our friends, Jill and Bill, on the train: Tortoises: How cute! coasterdude5 Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 Whoa, go Tortoises! Great trip report, BGA is an awesome park.
Team Thriller Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 Awesome!!! Is Montu really better than Alpengeist? Because I've heard that Montu is getting some bang bang in it. I know Alpengiest has it also, but now that they are just as bang banging, wouldn't Alpengiest win? But Anyway: awesome pictures
Sue Posted December 16, 2007 Author Posted December 16, 2007 Yes, we did ride Montu 54 times. I'd say it's way better than Alpengeist and I've never experience any roughness on Montu. The tortoise in the picture didn't score that time since he was on the side instead of the back. However, on Monday when I didn't bring my camera in, they were putting on quite the "show".
alpengeist04 Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 Awesome!!! Is Montu really better than Alpengeist? Yes, Montu is better than Alpengeist. ...I still think Alpengeist is a very good coaster, not great, but still very good. Nice job on the trip report. It never gets old seeing pictures from either of the Busch Gardens parks. ...and wow, 54 times on Montu is a lot.
Sue Posted December 16, 2007 Author Posted December 16, 2007 I do agree that Alpengeist is good as well. I especially love the snow/ski related theming on it.
