Photo Trip Report: Dubai Hop Fest

The hop fest at the Irish Village in Dubai, is in its 3rd year now. The 1st year the air con broke in the tent, the 2nd year they ran out of beer and this year it all went much better. This is the 1st time I have attended this event so was interested to see what all the fuss was about. Its a 3 day event and we arrived on the evening of day 2. We had to Que for around 1 hour to get in the tent, luckily, however, the Que ran through the Irish Village so we took it in turns at getting the beers in whilst waiting in line. It was free to get in but they had had some problems with the capacity of the tent earlier in the day so they were only allowing so many people in at a time.

 

There are over 100 beers available, mostly lagers, from all over the world. There was a great band and DJ doing their thing and they even had saw dust on the floor.

 

We have been promised it will be an even bigger event next year.

 

Anyway apologies about the quality of the pics, they were taken with my phone and it was very hot and messy in there.

My mom told me women are not allowed to dress scantly and that there is very little allowed alcohol in Dubai. I need to show her this thread.

Tonight my wife is taking a group of women out for unlimited Free Champagne all night and I am taking a group of men out down the erm..... Ladies of the night bars.

Ah that sound slightly familiar.

Unfortunately the it was so hot in the line waiting to get in that we had several Stella's before we got in so didn`t really tray as many beers as I would have liked to. Next year I will be prepared.

9I am very suprised to see those pics from Dubai. I thought that as a Muslim country they have strict rule about Alcohol and dress codes for women.

This is very intersthing.

^yeah me too, before I read that those rules doesn't apply to non-Muslims, and most of the people looked like Caucasians. Anyway, 100 beers that's a lot, and thanks for the photos!
