jten11 Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 This is a TR that I done earlier this month. Its a little long-winded, but I typed this as soon as I came back while it was still fresh in my mind. Since I really wanted to tell my 'story' of my time there, and since no one around me really cares about parks to the extent that I do, I decided to share my experience with my fellow enthusiasts here. Click here for the review or read below. *EDIT* decided to also post the review on here Hope you enjoy my point of view! Six Flags TR 06/09/07 Sup everyone. This here will be my first TR I've ever done. This weekend I decided to take a solo trip to Six Flags over Georgia. I had got to the park a lot later than I expected. The time was around 4:00 when I arrived and the park closes at 9:00. Not enough time if you're trying to ride all the coasters in the park. But low and behold...I was able to ride the 9 that I wanted to ride...including Deja Vu! (excluding the kiddie and mine coaster) But before I get to the coasters, I want to say a little something about my overall experience: Well besides the fact it was REALLY humid, I had a great time. The entire park was clean and kept and every ride was working and was running more than one train (Superman was running three). The workers, although they did their jobs, seemed like they need to take a workshop on being more professional. Some were looking real unenthusiastic and one didn't know when to stop playing around... The last time I went to Six Flags, the park was overcrowded with people, long lines and multiple breakdowns. Today, however, was a pretty light crowd to be a Saturday. Half of the rides were walk-ins and the Goliath's line moved real quick...to the fact I got multiple rides..and speaking of which I'll get to the coasters. I came to the park with a goal: To ride all the nine bigger coasters. Going through the gate, I went straight to Goliath in the back row(why i did that as my first ride, i have no idea). The line was surprisingly shorter than last time. It was no more than 15 minutes....Last time I went it was 1 about hour 1/2 wait..but back to the ride.. Man was it intense! A lot crazier than the front row. It really felt like you was about to fly off your seat. The lift up was probably the worst part for me, being that I was on the far left, plus I have a little fear of heights..as much as I love this ride, that lift will always gets me.. After that I went to the Georgia Scorcher, back row. Very short wait, about 5 minutes Another great ride. I learned that if you actually try to 'stand up' on that ride, you will really feel them forces on your legs....not a very comfortable feeling...but besides that, for a compact coaster it really has some nice twists and drops...loved the inversions. The corkscrew felt pretty comfortable and the ending was good too..another plus in my book. Even though I had a bad experience with the Georiga Cylone last time, I decided to give this another try...this time back row (last time i was in front). Today was barely any line. I just walked in and got on. Once you brace yourself, the ride can be pretty enjoying. Now that back row really made me feel I was about to fly off those seats. This ride has some crazy drops, and you're literally being flung. One thing that had me concerned was my lap bar. It seemed like the bar wasn't all the way down, but the workers said it fine. I guess so cause I left the ride in one piece...after riding this again, it gets a bump up in my score. This next ride was DeJa Vu. I was happy to see it was running today as this would be my very first time riding it. (It wasn't running the last time I went) This was the longest wait all day..about 50-60 min wait. The loading/unloading takes so long, nearly 5 minutes per dispatch. Plus you're limited on where you want to ride. You just got to be lucky to get a front/back seat. I think I was on the 6th row in the outer seats. Going up backwards vertically was a very unusual feeling...the drop and the inversions were real intense and not rough at all...you would think this is another boomerang/invertigo but something about this one I really like. Going backwards through the loop was my favorite part. Overall a great ride with poor loading time, but I'll wait in line to ride it again.....maybe. Ninja was going to be next, but as soon as I got on, it broke down. I wasn't that sad about it..this IS the Ninja we're talking about...anyways I decided to hit up Great American Scream Machine...I liked it last time so I should like in again...this time in the front row. Being a wooden coaster fan, I definitely enjoyed it, but it felt a little less intense than I expected(maybe because of the front row). Man, they need to work on those brakes. You think you're about to fly through the station since it's a real abrupt stop. Another ride you have to brace yourself to enjoy, although its not as rough as Georgia Cyclone. Once I saw Ninja running, I decided to go back to it. Of course this ride was a walk-in. Last time I rode the middle cars. It wasn't bad, but for a coaster with 5 inversions, it was a little unexciting and rough..this time I rode first car, second row...The lift is slow and the drop was real boring. This time the ride was REAL rough. No matter how I try to position my head, it was getting banged up all over the place! Now I know what people are talking about. Those corkscrews really hurt..hell, nearly any change in direction was painful...How can they continue to keep this ride going is beyond me. Staying in the area, I decided to go to Superman: Ultimate Flight. The queue is like a long path that goes under the ride with a fork at the end which you can go left or right. The line was extremely short from the last time I remembered it.(about a 5 min wait for front row) Everyone was waiting on the right side, so I just went to the left were there was less people. I was very impressed on how they were using both stations to load/unload. It made the wait significantly less (Last time only one station was working and had a lot of breakdowns, plus a good 2 hour wait) I got a front row seat and got on. I was getting annoyed by a worker who was trying to scare me, but was failing. The ride overall was relaxing, not too thrilling, except for the pretzel loop which I enjoyed. If you accept Superman for what it is and thats a flying coaster, then you'll enjoy this ride. It really does give you a sense of flight, especially when you stick your arms out. The drop to me was the second least intense drop behind Ninja. At this point it was around 7:00 and I'm surprised at the progress I made. Two more coasters to go and they're in the same area. I went straight to Mind Bender, one of my favorites. Another walk-in straight to the ride.(I guess it was my lucky day today) Back row was the choice for today. I like going through their vertical loops..You can really feel the forces in the back...that horizontal loop had a LOT of force...to the point where I was pinned down. But its nice that its one of the smoother coasters, yet one of the oldest coasters in the park. They should never take this down. Everyone can enjoy this one. (Just don't sit in the back) Next stop was Batman: The Ride. I had a bad expericence last time I went. (2 1/2 hour wait) But today it was literally a walk-on, which shocked me. I went straight to the seventh row. It wasn't the very back, but close enough. This little ride got some power. The intensity in the drop alone lets you know what you're up against. The zero-g roll and corkscrews were real intense although the ride went by kinda fast. But at least it was less than a minute wait. Two thumbs up just for that. At this point the time was almost 8:00 and I finished my goal. Being that I had some time I decided to get some extra rides on Goliath. One in the front and one in the back. Being in the front this time was different from the back. The drop wasn't that scary like it is in the back (but the lift still was) It still was a great ride. I ended my day with a back row ride of Goliath (exactly how I started the trip). Overall I had a real great time. With only 5 hours in the park I did exactly what I came to do and then some...all with no flash pass! Today was definitely my lucky day.

easytoremember Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 Pretty good TR. Just one question. Why did you not like Mind Bender in the back seat? There is some great ejector airtime on that ride if you ride in the very back or the very front.
jten11 Posted June 24, 2007 Author Posted June 24, 2007 It would have been nice if you could have posted your review here. --Robb Yeah I was considering that, but since I already wrote it, I felt like linking to it would be best. (and plus I'm kinda new to posting on these forums) Dont worry, at least NOW I know where to post my next TR. *EDIT* Ok Robb, I decided to post it on here as well. Pretty good TR. Just one question. Why did you not like Mind Bender in the back seat? There is some great ejector airtime on that ride if you ride in the very back or the very front. Oh no, dont get me wrong. I LOVE it in the backseat. I just wasnt prepared for that helix to be THAT forceful in the back..it caught me off guard.
