Twister II Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005 Well Im coming to California this winter for Disney Land and the Sothern California Pass. (3days disney, 1 day knotts, 1 day anything else). Our flight leaves at 10:00am from Colorado to Orange County. Now, sence it will be winter, SFMM is only open on Saturday and Sunday. Flight is on Sunday. But, will I have enough time to go to our hotel, and go to SFMM for about 1/2 day? or is that not enough time?
What Now Posted May 27, 2005 Posted May 27, 2005 1. SFMM is about a 90 drive from Orange County depending on the traffic. 2. You should be able to do everything in half a day. Just be sure to get there early.
COOOOLkid Posted May 28, 2005 Posted May 28, 2005 I thought Southern California City pass was only valid for: 3-Day Park Hopper at Disneyland Resort 1 Day Admission to Knott's 1 Day Admission to SeaWorld San Diego 1 Day Admission to San Diego Zoo OR San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park...
coaster1 Posted May 28, 2005 Posted May 28, 2005 I thought Southern California City pass was only valid for: 3-Day Park Hopper at Disneyland Resort 1 Day Admission to Knott's 1 Day Admission to SeaWorld San Diego 1 Day Admission to San Diego Zoo OR San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park... It is, that's what we got last summer, nice deal actually. SFMM is doable if they are open during the week, but it's a haul from Orange County .. close to 65 miles one way. Might look to see what airport your flying into, if it's BUR (Burbank) or LAX (Los Angeles) you should just go to SFMM first if that's what you want to do. The other airports ONT (Ontario), SNA (Orange County) and LGB (Long Beach) might make it a little harder, none are more than 80 miles away .. just have to deal with the traffic and possible airport/airplane delays.
Twister II Posted May 28, 2005 Author Posted May 28, 2005 We are getting the SO Cal City pass. But I have a season pass for Six Flags Elitch Gardens, so it should work with SFMM. We are flying into Orange County, we are waiting to buy tickets until they go on sale.
coaster1 Posted May 29, 2005 Posted May 29, 2005 Itll work at SFMM .. SNA has issues sometimes, when we flew in for Solace we were delyaed 2 hours getting out cause of baggage claim issues and rental car issues .. that sucked. SNA is the furthest away from SFMM, close to almost 90 miles away, so your gonna have some fun times with that
Twister II Posted June 1, 2005 Author Posted June 1, 2005 I made a quick list of what I would like to do. rating from most important to least important: Coasters 1.) X 2.) Goliath 3.) Scream 4.) Deja Vu 5.) Superman 5.) Riddler's 6.) Ninja 7.) Batman 8.) Viper 9.) Psyclone 10.) Revolution 11.) Colossus Other 1.) Thrill Shot 2.) Freefall 3.) Spinout If I arive around 1 or 2 and the park closes at 6, how much could I get done?
Sir Clinksalot Posted June 1, 2005 Posted June 1, 2005 Honestly, not much. SFMM is definately one of those "Get there early if you want to get everything done" parks. Don't count on getting on X unless that's all you want to ride if you get there after opening.
COOOOLkid Posted June 2, 2005 Posted June 2, 2005 X's queue is ususlaly around hr during the non-peak seasons... but then again, some schools are getting out already...
robbalvey Posted June 2, 2005 Posted June 2, 2005 What time does your flight get into OC? I'm a little confused by your original post. If your flight doesn't LEAVE CO until 10:00am, I can't imagine that you're getting into OC before noon. If that's the case, then by the time you get bags and your rental car...assume it's now 1pm, it will take you at LEAST 90 minutes to get to Valencia, so now it's 2:30...but you said you also wanted to check into your hotel? So let's say the earliest you can get there is 3pm. And during the Winter SFMM closes at 6pm. The chances of you getting in everything is slim to none if the above schedule is somewhat accurate. X will have at LEAST an hour line. Same with Deja Vu. So you'll almost have to choose..."Do I ride X and Deja Vu...or everything else in the park." Because during the winter, the lines for everything else shouldn't be more than 15 to 20 minutes long, because usually during the winter SFMM does the "bring a toy, get in for $10 deal." While it's a popular promotion, the park doesn't get as crowded as it does during the summer. Give us a little more info about your trip and we can help you plan a bit better! --Robb
Twister II Posted June 2, 2005 Author Posted June 2, 2005 Well Ive just been informed that we havn't even gotton plane tickets yet. (Waiting for them to go on sale) When we went to Florida, we our plane left some where inbetween 7 and 8, so I guess it will be in between 6am and 9am. 10am is WAY to late if you are flying out of DIA (Denver), especially with security and the 2hr wait.
