RBOrrell Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Setting: Rented 6 bedroom house, Orlando Florida Who: myself and 6 other middle-age male Canadian golfers Purpose: annual spring golf trip to warmer climes Problem: Where do we go to eat tonight? In previous years, our pilgrimage to the sunny south has taken us from Toronto to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. This year, we were looking for a change so we booked the trip to Orlando instead. The golfing was great. Unfortunitly, the restaurant selection along Hwy 192 and I4 are fairly limited to chains that for the most part cater to families that are there for the Disney/USF type of trip. It was bad enought that strip joints are pastie bars, but we need some good food. Our first night we went to a place called Houlihans on the suggestion of a cart girl at one of the courses. It was a good place but I think the waiter was overwhelmed by our group. As we were driving along 192 however I saw a restaurant that I remembered reading about here. Carrabba's! The next night, I took a chance and suggested Italian and we went. The place was a hit. I was the hero. Thanks Theme Park Review
CoastersNSich Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 I went to a Carrabba's, not far from Kings Island once. I thought the food and service was great (though the place seemed empty at the time.) However, for some reason, my friends and family won't go there because they think it's too expensive. However, I can't wait to come back.
Bubba83 Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 I don't think it's that expensive really. You pay for what you get in my opinion, too. We had one in Arizona that I went to 3 times, very good food!
robbalvey Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 I think pricing wise it's on par with the other big "Italian Chains" Olive Garden and Maccaroni Grill. While Olive garden might be a *little* cheaper, for dinner, not by much. --Robb
