Dear Robb, Elissa, and TPR members,

Here's the story, Near the end of July, some friends and I are doing a road trip through Eastern Europe, and I was wondering which theme parks you guys know or like in these following countries:

-Poland

-Austria

-Slovakia

-Tchec Republic

-Hungary

(I'm also going through Germany, but I have enough theme park information about that country, thanks to Robb And Elissa and TPR)

I thank you in advance for any information you might give me.

Yours truly,

Willy Wonka

For Austria, the one major park is Wiener Pratner, which has 9 coasters, including a Vekoma Boomerang, custom Zamperla Volare, and a side friction woodie. There is also Erlebnispark Strasswalchen, which only has one coaster, but it is supposedly pretty good.

In Poland, the biggest park is Silesian Amusment Park, which has some 40 rides, 3 coasters including an under construction Soquet looper, and also features a swimming pool complex, skate park, musuem, and rose garden, among other attractions.

In Hungary, there is Vidampark, which has two family/kiddie coasters, a old wooden coaster, and a Shwarzkopf looper.

In Slovakia there is nothing, and in the Tchec Republic, there is nothing unless you where talking about the Czech Republic.

Thank you.

I had heard about a few of those, like Wiener Prater ( Which is said to be the oldest Theme Park in the world , because before it became a theme park, it was an entertainment area for centuries) and Vidam Park (also a very old park, said to have the woodie with the longest track in Europe: 1 km)

Yes, I did mean Czech Republic ( Sorry I got mixed up with the french spelling: Republique Tcheque) I found some information though. Apparently there is a park called Lunapark, which has an SDC Galaxi roller coaster called Horska Draha

I did both Vidampark and Prater back in 2004 on my own.

Vidampark had like 5 people at it when I went so none of my photos show rides going.. But as a park it was really nice.

Prater kicked-ass... But I ended up spending A LOT of money at it.. As its more like a fair.. Where you pay for each ride. But it has so many cool flats and a real one of a kind feel.. totally different feel from what you would get at Vidam

As for the Czech Republic park.. I walked around and looked for it.. But wasnt able to find it (I guess I just got lucky walking to Prater and Vidam)

and btw Praters volare is only different in where it as its lifthill.. the rest of the ride is the same. (from the first drop back to the station)
