Magic Mountain

So, I'm going to be hitting SoCal for my first time on the 23rd (thanks to everyone who answered my question about the rental car) and I had a question about Magic Mountain. I wanted to go on a weekday to avoid crowds, but was sad to see it is only open from 10:30 - 6pm. However, the hours are longer on weekends. Assuming this is the "off" season for the park, would it be crazy of me to try to go on a weekend in late April early May, or should I suck up the reduced hours and still go on a weekday? Oh, and I'll have one day at the park to try (I hope) to get on most of the rides. Thanks

Stick to the weekday. It will be considerably less crowded.

Tuesdays, AFTER Spring Break (meaning the week after this coming week.. until about June 10th or so is a good time to go.

 

Do NOT go on a weekend. Here in SoCal, people tend to go "Oh, I'll just take a Friday or Monday off and take my kids to SFMM"..... WRONG. It just crowds up the park, even if the water park does open up in a few weeks.

 

I have tried going on the last few Saturdays before spring break and it has just been a constant jam of church groups, kids, and school groups as far away as Mexico. The last time I tried going on a Sunday I forgot it was Presidents Day and we got pretty much the same thing ("ooh, I want to go on THE (insert SFMM ride name here)!!omfgbbq!)

 

So I would suggest, coming between April 15 and the middle of june so you don't get too sharded. (Hey, don't kill my plan for April 11th!)
