Shockwave Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 I'm glad that the matter is finally getting solved. The Ropers do have a point in the sense that they have been living there way before Alton Towers ever became the place that it is. But they're trying to stop a business which pumps a lot of money into the local area which helps the local economy to be sustainable. The existing measures are more than adequate at the moment. What they should really be campaigning for is a bypass around the local towns which suffer traffic chaos whenever the park gets busy, to take that noise away from their front door. I'm sure that a few thousand cars passing their way every day is much worse than a big roller coaster half a mile from their house.
cfc Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 ^That's a good point, Tom. They do seem to be fighting the wrong battle.
IceDragon Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 i know someone who knows the Ropers. i kindly asked them to ask the Ropers to quit while they are ahead
