Trentster Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 I'm planning a trip up to Cedar Point with my dad in May. The thing is, all the hotel reviews and places I've looked at online don't look...nice. Where is the best place to stay that is nicer and semi-affordable. We are doing a 2-day trip at the park and then off to Paramount King's Island. Thanks! -Trent
SharkTums Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 I don't know exactly what you mean when you say 'decent' or 'semi-affordable'. If you want a Holiday Inn Express type place, just stay at Breakers Express. No breakfast, but interior corridors and a newer style hotel. Plus you'll get into CP 30 minutes before the public. It's usually between $60-$110 depending on day and season.
socalRCfan Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 Elissa, where will the group be staying while in Sandusky this summer?
Trentster Posted January 22, 2007 Author Posted January 22, 2007 When I say decent, I mean not the scary reviews I have read of mildew, bad smells, etc. And by semi-affordable, I mean cheap enough to guarantee a nice experience at the hotel. Thanks for taking the time to reply!
Carnage Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 ^ Breaker's express is your best option then. I haven't stayed anywhere else since staying there. It's about as much as most affordable hotels in the area, and is not a dive like most of the off point hotels are.
yodathefrog Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 I would have to agree with everyone else...Breakers Express was just built a few years back, and is an enjoyable place to stay at The Point.
scooterdoug Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Hello! My name is Doug...new to this forum. I went to CP last September and stayed in Breakers Express. Nothing fancy, but it's clean and cozy. And, like Elissa said, you get into the park before everyone else (and they'll sell you discounted tickets). Getting into the park early is a HUGE plus. I got to ride MF a half dozen times before the crowds swarmed in. Enjoy your time at the Point. -Doug
