Primogen18 Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 I thought this deserved it's own topic since the others were about the golf course and Flying Turns (and some of their past sites were pretty bad, this ones actually really nice), if it doesn't its alright. Knoebels launched their new site design today after being closed a couple months. Some of the pages aren't completely finished, but overall the site looks much better then any previous sites (especially that last one) Also, it lists not just rides, but attractions, and Three Ponds is one of them. I'm just glad they finally got a site that really shows who they are, some of the past ones weren't so great at all. www.Knoebels.com
Ccron10 Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 It said on the rides page that The Looper was refurbished, didn't they just get that 2 years ago and it was brand new?
Bubba Z Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 ^ It was new back in 1927, I think? It's a very rare vintage Herschell brought back to life by Knoebels. I'm not sure but there are only two left in the states.
Primogen18 Posted January 20, 2007 Author Posted January 20, 2007 They never said it was brand new, just new to the park. They always mentioned it was refurbished, they even had pictures of it in its prior condition (rusty and old)
RCoasterny Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 Yes, finally! There are a couple new things- Flying Turns and Three Ponds golf course being one of them. I also noticed something new at the campground. It's the "Dream Suite" which is (as per the website): "A honeymoon style park model unit; complete with round bed, heart shaped tub, mood lighting, bath and kitchenette." Now that sounds like the perfect cabin for TPR! I noticed something unusual about the pictures used for the Cosmotron and the Satellite rides. See if you can figure out what's different about those photos..

They're actually there! lol (I'm glad)

CoasterFanatic Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 "A honeymoon style park model unit; complete with round bed, heart shaped tub, mood lighting, bath and kitchenette." What? No mirrors on the ceiling?
BarryH Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 ^Maybe there will be mirrors on the ceiling and pink champagne on ice.
Primogen18 Posted January 23, 2007 Author Posted January 23, 2007 Are they somewhat older pictures of the rides (the Satellite doesn't have colored lights at least anymore I don't think)? I give up, what's different, lol.
RCoasterny Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 yup- you got it. The Cosmotron picture shows the previous Traver Caterpillar ride (it has a custom Wisdom SilverStreak now). Satellite now has a metal grating on the nose and sides, and the flourescent tubes were replaced with turbolites.
Primogen18 Posted January 24, 2007 Author Posted January 24, 2007 Ahh, how interesting, I wonder why? I'm sure they will snap some new ones when 2007 starts up, the ones up there now are just place-holders since they've never had them pictured (for some odd reason...)
