Primogen18 Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 Looks very well done, Rollercoastermodels.com has alot of very nice stuff. heres the link to the ebay page: Ebay link Also, heres a link to the page on Rollercoastermodels.com about the model: http://www.rollercoastermodels.com/phoenix.html
robbalvey Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 I know John Hunt and he builds a lot of coaster models for parks and other companies. Although I would NOT have this thing shipped. Would you trust Jeff Johnson with something that fragile? --Robb
Primogen18 Posted January 4, 2007 Author Posted January 4, 2007 Yeah, there would be alot of insurance and serious packing peanuts on this thing. I was just wondering why anyone would buy something like this (such a detailed and one of a kind model) and sell it on ebay. I guess they just don't have the space anymore and Knoebels already has 2 Phoenix models on display (although this one is much nicer then the older one they have on display)
alpengeist04 Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 Such a simple layout, but such a great ride. I love the model, but wouldn't trust it being shipped after paying 400+ dollars.
RCoasterny Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 I can find quite a few errors in the model itself. Especially with the station/turnaround/lifthill area. I'm not sure of the accuracy of the two models that Knoebels has on display- the first one was built by a local high school wood shop the same time Knoebels was constructing the Phoenix back in 1985. The second model seemed to have more attention to detail and accuracy- I don't know who built it, and it was first put on display a few years back.
jamesdillaman Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 From Hunt's website: Q - Can roller coaster models be safely shipped? A - Yes. I ship models to just about all of my clients. Models have been safely shipped as far away as Europe. For more information about shipping models, please refer to the "Order a Model" link above. -James Dillaman
exmouse Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 A friend of mine bought one of these models and had it shipped to the UK without any damage at all, Royal Mail obviously didn't get their hands on it. He had a custom made glass cabinet made to house it and it's now his coffee table.
