jarmor Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 Ok...it's not from this year but I was just going thru my pictures and realize I didn't make a TR so here ya go! Overall I liked the event. WHile it's no "Christmas in the Smokies" it was pretty well done for them having it the first time in a long time. I would have to say it was more of a production of lights than a display in my opinion. I really wanted this to come back this year but I know w/ all the changes the park wanted to get some time to soak it all in and hopefully it will return next year... The end...I hope you enjoyed! Overview... Looking head on... The signage in the front. The best looking cinnabon ever... Gotcha! Finally something else... he he he he... Wadda ya know another picture of the tree... Hey look who came out!! ...And again... No kids to enjoy... These things came in handy during my visit! I felt like I was outerspace... And again... Thats hot... The fat dude finally showed up. Oh and santa did also (yeah that was lame...) The paratree again... One of the better displays. The show was also a big hit at the event. A white christmas. Unacceptable subsitute! The flyers. Im sure they would have had more visitors if they were. The rides that were open was basically nick central attractions except... "I took up all the budget heh heh" The highlight of the evening was the water and lights show...it was amazing! One of the bad shots but gives you an idea of the area. The scrooge thingy. Just like the Donkey/buzzard thingy. awwwww.... I am reptar hear me roar! But they made up for it w/ these ground displays! One thing I can say is that paramount used alot of card board cut outs instead of 3D models... But unlike my front east yard...it changes colors. the ice skating rink had alot of hype but it was no larger than my front east yard! pretty lights! He's thinking "man I hope next year they dont have this thing so I wont be freezing another year!" Shops all decorated I decided to see how many people I can get to sit on my lap... Looking up... The "hot" seat. Another larger than life christmas tree...you could actually walk thru the drum! No PTR is complete w/o a pic of me. Just to let you know where you are. Charlotte's tallest christmas tree... Twas' the night at winterfest and now at the gate. Not a creature was stirring and I wasn't even late!
the sound Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 lol, you kept taking photos of the same thing. The same boring looking thing! Anyway, good photos. Tommy and Chuckie looks so cute.
pkdcoaster Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 I was about to say... I thought they canned this? It seems a waste to spend all the money on equipment & lights for one year only then just let it all rot in storage. Anyway thanks for the christmasy (uh oh not PC!!!!) pics Jarmor JEFF
Bk1870 Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 DANG IT! I miss this SO MUCH. I am still mad it's not back this year. Last year was so much fun! It was cold, the park had a great atmosphere, and no lines! Plus good soup! What more could you ask for?
