CoasterFanatic Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 ^ And I though I had the "Exclusive" walking tour The flyer op situation was kind of a downer, but in all it was a fun PPP. // Tri-Taters and Pierogies move next to the Skloosh lifthill for the covered bridge festival.
Hercules Posted October 9, 2006 Author Posted October 9, 2006 Nice to finally meet you, Jay (however brief it was). That's one of the bad things about PPP, a lot of people come out, but you hardly have enough time to see everyone AND do all the various unique thing there to do. Add in the lack of cell phone service, and its almost impossible to meet up with people. Shame you missed Dorney, next time either suck it up, or take some pain relievers. It was nice to meet you too. It does suck that I missed Dorney just because there were so many people there. I was going to try to suck it up, but I didn't become fully mobile until about 4, which at that point I figured it was a lost cause. The lack of cell service does suck, especially when trying to call my girlfriend or trying to get up-to-date scoring of the Mets. Just a few notes about PPP. Two of the three Flyer ops wouldn't let people snap. On Sunday I noticed that the good op was there when the guy in the picture left and the queue was full of some seasoned Flyer riders just waiting for their chance. That's the only time I rode the Flyers. Funny thing is that in the past I've seen Dick Knoebel ride by the Flyers when people are snapping and he didn't even blink an eye. I actually found that 2 of the 3 were letting you snap and it was only the 1 grumpy guy. Maybe it was just because the other guy was there later at night with the kid that was letting you snap that he was a little toned down or something. Later at night they were running very abbriviated cycles, which sucked, but they were letting you get away with murder. I don't know if they were running the short cycles to get everyone a chance to ride, or if managment said to let us do whatever we want, but just make it short. - I was on that last ride of the afternoon before the grumpy dude switched off with the op that let you snap. ^ Aw man. Pierogies were there? I guess I will know for next year.
niiicolaaah Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 I'm so glad you captured Mr. Stinky finger on film. I heard all about him but was sad I didn't get to experience him firsthand... finger... well.. um.. yeah. And I was NOT scared on Phoenix. I WAS laughing so hard that I was crying. That ain't no Balder airtime. It's really hard for me to decide which ride I like better, honestly. Phoenix feels like a real woodie (heh heh), Balder doesn't. But Balder has just such amazing airtime. Oh, what to do, what to do. Great pics.. it was nice meeting you. Shame we didn't get to spend more time with everybody, but it sure was a fun day.
Hercules Posted October 10, 2006 Author Posted October 10, 2006 I totally forgot how incredibly awesome Phoenix is. It was more insane than what I remember. "Hey guys. Where are the seat belts?"
larrygator Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 Nicole - you looked and acted like someone in shock, I really couldn't tell, that's why I asked what you thought of Phoenix.
