Halloween in Holland: Walibi World's Fright Nights

Recommended Posts

I think you all know about the American Halloween festivals in lots of themeparks. But I would like to show you guys some Dutch Halloween. To be exact: Walibi World's Halloween.

This year we have Happy Halloween (since 2005) and the Fright Nights (since 2000). Happy Halloween is all about Family Scarecrow. This is a family from the US. They're on holiday in Walibi World's farm for two weeks. They used to scare birds they but don't feel like that these weeks, because it's their holiday. For that, the kids have to scare them. When they do well, and they will, they get candy!

In the weekends starts at 6 PM. the Fright Nights. The park is in hand of the German Dr. Shock and his assistend Helga. There are two scarezones and two haunted houses/mazes. Scarezones are Point of Fear (whit lots of experiments of Dr. Shock) and Carnival of Freaks (lots of failed experiments).

The mazes are in style of Dr. Shock's house: 'House of Shock; Lunatic Asylum' show how Dr. Shock torture poeple and shows a sight in his hospital Lunatic Asylum. 'Helga's Tornton Inc; Mystery Farm' is the second maze. After this insane farm you have to escape through the maze in the cornfield. But beware of chainsaws!

You can visit www.walibiworldhalloween.nl or www.frightnights.nl for more photos and videos!

It's true. I do that all the time, and come out once a year around Halloween to prove I'm not joking!

Nice pictures, especially the one of Robin Hood. I was actually lucky enough to go to Walibi Wolrd on a vaction to the Netherlands last October. They definately have some great Halloween decorations-a few of the characters in the maze had real chainsaws! It's totally worth it if you're in the country-they do some things that would NOT be allowed in the US (chainsaws being just one of them). The actors take their jobs really seriously-they'll follow you around for quite a while if you even look at them funny.

Great event, plus the line for Goliath is always short

Nice photo's, can you ride the coasters in the dark..?

Yes, you can! And that's pretty cool! Specially Goliath and Xpress (Superman: The Ride).

I would like to hear some reactions from American poeple... What do you think of this Halloween event? To get'n better impression, please watch this video:

For translation: At the end of the video you see Dr. Shock himself, asking you "Will you be the next patient?", it's a little bit like a promotion line for this year.

At the website you can view more video's, also one of the farm! Please let me know what you think!
