colinmom71 Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Well, if you're in town for an SFoG trip next year and are interested in a side trip to the Georgia Aquarium, there will also now be another new side trip attraction for the next upcoming park season. Giant panda Lun-Lun gave birth to her first panda cub yesterday afternoon. So far, both seem healthy and well. Not much info is available yet since zoo officials haven't been able to examine the cub quite yet. Lun-lun and cub are expected to remain in seclusion in the birthing den for a while. Zoo Atlanta's web site will begin publishing daily photos and a live cam feed in the birthing den on Friday morning... http://www.zooatlanta.org/zoo_news_panda_birth.htm
BelizeIt Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Nice report, but where's Yang Yang? Is he kept apart from Lun-Lun and their newborn? Perhaps that's a standard practice with newborn giant Panda's.
bgwfreak Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 Too bad he'll be killed in a gang drive-by at SFOG.
goleafsgo Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 eewww, its all pin and gross. and why do people make such a big deal over this kinda stuff?
ParkTrips Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 ^ Because the species is endangered It's a bummer that the likelihood of twins is pretty much gone now =( - Joe, who always liked the Gorillas the best at Zoo Atlanta, RIP Willie
