neovortex2k Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Woohoo finally my first ever proper TR. It also includes my first ever POV's for Indiana Jones: Temple of Peril, Space Mountain Mission 2 and The Rock'N'Rollercoaster. Well when I got to Disneyland you can imagine my dissappointment in finding that Big Thunder Mountain was closed for "rountine refurbishment". I was very annoyed. The queue for Buzz Lightyear was understandibly nearly an hour long as it was the newest ride there. You know the rest same old same old. Now the part I was most excited about our second day going to the Movie Studios to get my first construction photos. We got about 6 ride's on R'N'R before a sizeable queue formed. After gettin photos of the Tower of Terror we went on the Magic Carpets to get some sneaky photos of Crush. Anyway enough talk here are the photos. P.s. dont forget to check out the pov's in the members section The last photo of this update of the sign. A head on view of the TOT with the advertisment board Here you can see hole's they have dug in theground for maybe themeing Here is a bit more of the giant turtle structure From Alladin Magic Carpets you get a great view of what i presume to be the future queuing area. In the far right you can see the edge of the turtle frame From just over the wall you can see the steel frame and wire mesh of what looks like it's going ti be a giant turtle. Unfortunatly this is the best phot i have of it From just inside the park this is the view of Crush's Turtle Twister building A back view from in front of the R'N'R A front and side view The building is absolutuly massive. When we were there two days previous, the doors on the inside of the doorframe up the very top of the photo had not been added Once in the park and you exit the main buliding this is the view that greets you. Between the trees from ouside the entrance you can see the top corner of the Crush's Turtlr Tiwster building The big impossing structure of the Tower of Terror from outside the park in the Disney Village More white tarp and scaffolding covering the scenery just before the on-ride photo section Men in hard hats Walk along the same track segment viewing the scenery Scaffolding under the straight flat peice of track before the on-ride photo. The whit tarp concealing behind the scene's More scaffolding along the track towards the on-ride photo section In this photo you can see a big black hole in the top of the mountain that I have never seen before They built a scaffold platform under one of the banked turns leading to the lift hill. It's off to work we go with a .......... Everyone was so interested in the floating pontoon and the work men Refurbishment going on on trhe top of the mine tower Big Thunder Mountain. Closed for refurbishment. You can see the white tarp over the left hand side of the photo near the on-ride photo.
neovortex2k Posted September 4, 2006 Author Posted September 4, 2006 If you look at this photo it seems to exit the building where i have shown the turtle srtucture in the previous photo.www.rcdb.com/ig3306.htm?picture=6

ECZenith Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 That's cool how the track exits the building for an outdoor portion of the ride. Wasn't the coaster also supposed to dip out of the top of the building in front of the facade in the concept art/models? It doesn't appear to in the recent construction photos I've seen.
neovortex2k Posted September 12, 2006 Author Posted September 12, 2006 Ah thanks for clearing that up.
