Reon
Previously, on the Me Show... Alright, here's the deal: My Wisconsin trip plans have met an unfortunate end, as my family can no longer meet our relatives. *Waves goodbye to Dells* HOWEVER, my parents saw how sad and pathetic I was about it, and decided that we could still go on a trip over the next few days (no use crying over a four day break from work...) Here's where I need help. Starting in Cincinnati, with a 4 day time limit, what is a good family vacation route? We can hit a park or two, but there should be some other stuff to do... Edit: Scratch that request. I somehow managed to make my way to Madison, and the coaster gods smiled down on me....There is a county fair LITERRALY a few blocks down from my cousins house. I'm gonna check it out and include it in my Photo TR later this week... And now back to our regularly schedualed TR: It seems that the coaster god's were not smiling on me after all. The second I got settled in, that fair closed down, and I was denied any credit they may have had. The next day, everybody decided that it was now or never for the Dells, so I left at about 5pm. At about 6:15, we finally arived at Mt. O (after passing by missed credit#1 on Avalanche.) Mt. Olympus: 9/10 The second I entered the actual park, I noticed a new path, which ran right through all the good coasters. Almost immediately, me and my cousin went up the ramp to Zeus.. Zues: 7/10 I take back everything nasty I said about this thing last year. It may not be the best ride in the park, but this thing is filled with ejector air. Even without all the trees it was origionally burried in, this 'thunderbolt' still packs a nice layout, with a double down, double up ending. Next up was my favorite coaster in the world... Cyclops: 100000000000000000.6/10 I cannot stress enough how much I love this ride! Each hill is packed with tremendous airtime, the layout is nicely woven, and there is a moment of air so severe that you almost fall out of the car itself. My only complaint about the ride is that it's too short. After two rides on the one-eyed monster, it was time for the only line of the day... Hades: 9/10 Comparing it to last year's ride, I'd say Hades has aged nicely. Though it's not nearly as prominent as Cyclops or Zues, this thing has some hints of air in it. Also, the 90* turns in pitch black pwn all. After Hades, things took a turn for the worse. On the way to the Parthenon (which at that point was due to close soon), I spotted some goats. Now, I know you all must love them, but I don't do goats. They just disturb me. Anyways, the goat/petting zoo was a harbinger of ill omens. The most prominent was the Parthenon. As soon as I got in there, Opa closed (denied credit #2). So with regret, and some arcading, we trekked back. Over by the carts, we were met by our final denied credit; the Dive to Atlantis water coaster. Apparently it closed, so we just went back to the GOOD stuff for some nighttime rides. Needless to say, the darkness really boosted each rides' ratings, especially Hades. Finally, we left. Unfortunately, my cousin seemed a bit too eager to leave, so I wasn't able to buy a souvenier shirt. Also, he seemed to have forgoten to backtrack to Avalanche, so we just plain left the Dells after Mt. Olympus. Overall, the park gets a 9, but the trip gets a 4 for being so sad and pathetic...All I'm going to say in my defence is this: Despite the goats closing down my credits, Mt. Olympus is an awesome park. CCI built them some great woodies, which are NOT to be missed...[/i]
einsteinonthebeach
Hey I was there today as well. I was wearing a blue Millenium Force T-shirt. I also was denied a ride at Mt. Olympus. They started turning people away from Hades at about 9:54pm. It seemed odd that they would close off the ride early since the ride Op. at Zeus was still letting people on. Only a minor complaint... I second the rave review for Cyclops. This coaster is truley a magnificent ride. The ejector air on "the drop" is unmatched by any other coaster I have ridden! Mark PS: Be sure to get back sometime soon to get your Avalanche credit, that coaster is INSANE!
Reon
You should have told me, so we could meet up...I was wearing my Dueling Dragons shirt. But yeah, you just missed the night rides on Hades. I must have got on at 9:40-something Oh well, atleast you got the Avalanche credit..
benzo41190
The Ops on Hades arent as "cool" as the ops for the other coasters. But they do speak good english though Its sad that they turned you away at 9:45 PM. One time we got a ride on Cyclops at 10:15 PM...it was the only ride open
Reon
^Or it could have been all the lightning in the distance. Im supprised they didn't close everything at 9:35, when it all started. I mean, there was no thunder, but still... But like the title says, photos will be up eventually. I wasn't able to waste the whole roll on Mt. O, so I have to use some for other family activitiys, and I wont be able to develop them untill I get back home in a day or two...
einsteinonthebeach
Yeah I thought most of the rides were going to close when the lightning started as well. Glad they kept them open since it was off in the distance and only Heat Lightning which I don't think could do any damage. One other observation I noticed from the park. They really need to become more efficient with Opa! The ride op. was letting trains with just 2 people go through. If the operator would have paired groups of 2 together not only would the line be cut in half, but the trains would get more spin. (Seriously whats the point of riding a spinning coaster if the you sit right in the middle instead of off to one side) Rant over...
