Worlds Of Fun :PTR:

Recommended Posts

okay, so I was really lucky because I almost wasn't allowed to go because I left my dad's atm card in the atm...

After the 3 1/2 hour drive, and the pointless drive downtown, we finally headed over to Worlds Of Fun. We arrived at the park around 12:45pm. we waited in line for EVER beacause these midwestern people wouldn't stop asking questions, finally i got too angry and went to a different line where i immeadiately got my ticket

We go in and see the Spinning dragon has no line. we hop in and wait 5mins to get on. the ride was fun but it't not something I could ride more than twice in a row, it's just too tame.

Spinning Dragons- 6/10

We then ran over to Patriot, and too my amazement the wait was only 10mins. We hop in the front row loading dock but the line in too long, so we get in the 2nd loading dock with only a one train wait. Patriot is a very nice addition to WOF. It's not the BEST but it's something i'd like to ride a lot. The only forceful parts were the bottom of the frist drop, the slanted helix, and the helix after the corkscrew.

Patriot- 9/10

We then headed over to Thunderhakw because it was literally 85-90 degrees outside. I barely got wet but my brother and his girlfriend got soaked.

Thunderhawk- 7/10

After getting NOT so wet, we headed over to Timberwolf. If im not mistaken, wsn't this thing re-tracked, or am i just dillusional? Anyways, I solimly swear to never ride Timberwolf for the rest of my life unless it is turned into a B&M and made as smooth as butter. The ride hurt like a B**** ! ! the drop was the worst because the train was shaking violently!! I tried taking an on-ride photo but i ended up taking a picture of the floor becuase i couldn't hold the camera steady. After being tossed around like a ragdoll and climbing over my brother(because he got stuck in the train) I warned my brother that it hurt REALLYY bad, so him and his GF left.

Timberwolf- 3/10

After seeing my life flash before me, we headed to the back of the park. on our way there we rode detenator. I love them spaceshot rides, especially when you reach the top and are thrown back down with MAJOR ejector time..

we then headed down to mamba. Me and my brother rode three times in a row. the line was always a one or two train wait. We rode in the very back, and to be honest with you I was truly scared. The reason being because I felt a vibration the seat the entire ride. The shaking was the worst when we were going around the helix. I kind of got scared and told my brother I wasn't riding in the back anymore. Although it did have some really good air-time.

Mamba- 8/10

After only being at the park for a few hours, we began to get bored and extremely hot. We decided after riding monsoon that we wanted to go to Oceans Of Fun. On the way out I decided to ride Boomerang. Suprisingly it was EXTREMELY smooth. the only headbanging I got was from the cobra roll because it's taken quite quick, and i still hate the chain catch, hurts like hell!!

Boomerang- 7/10

My brother and I drove to the dollor general to get a "swimsuit", a.k.a. swishy pants. When we went to go pay for our tickets, my brother was paying for his girlfriend and him and the lady was putting wristbands on my brother and I. We walked away and realized we never payed, so were like, SHAWEET!!

We swam in the wave pool for aout 20mins and then decided to go to ride Hurricane falls, about a halfhour wait. It wasnt quite worth it but it was very fun. After that we rode Typhoon and Diamond head. We got tired of waiting in hour lines for 20 second rides so me and my younger rother went back to WOF. We rode Mamba another 5 times with only a couple minute wait.

we then headed over to patriot to find it had a 30minute wait. we didn't feel it was worth it so we went to get something to drink. We then heade to SD to find it closed. so we went through the gift shop for about twenty minutes. We headed back to patriot and got on in less then 10mins becuase someone was nice enough to let us go before them. After that i saw there were two open seats in the front row and decided to take em. The back of the train is the most forceful. You get whipped out of the loop which was awesome.

after that we headed out at about 8:00pm.

All in all it was a very good day to go. The park was comletely empty for most of the day.

Timber Wolf is undergoing a MAJOR rehab. They haven't completely retracked it. But it's an improvement from what it used to be.

Timber Wolf's rehab started last year, and will be completed during the winter. It's been down most of the day, and only opening around 4 PM.

Next year Timber Wolf should return to it's glory days.

Nobody truely knows how to ride Spinning Dragons. You need to fatten up and get another fat friend. Put them on the side going up the lift hill the normal way. You spin like crazy, and the forces are insane. Tried it going up the lift hill backwards, but it doesn't provide the same ride as first stated.

Spinning Dragons is best with two average people or one overweight and one underweight going up the lift backwards and no one on the other side, or with two average/ one over and one under going up backwards and one skinny person on the other side.

EVERYONE rides Patriot wrong, despite constant assurances that the back is better (okay, not EVERYONE, but you get the idea). You ride in the front seat and get off saying it's forceless, aside from one or two places. Well, guess what? That's true with a heck of a lot of inverts. Alpengeist, for example only felt forceful (to me) at the bottom of the first drop and after the vertical loop in the front seat. Every invert I've had the pleasure to ride, impulses not included, is better in the back. There's more than a little difference between the front and the back on Patriot. The front is probably a top twenty ride, but the back is a top ten, if not a top five, ride. I'm glad you did get a chance to ride in the back.

You judged Timber Wolf too quickly. It was a lot worse two seasons ago. Also, you almost definately made the stupid choice to not sit in the front row the first time. On top of that, you probably sat in the second row of the car, which is almost invariably rougher on any coaster. You're right, Timber Wolf is rough, but so are woodies in general. You have no idea how much rougher it was through the first turnaround and through the helix. And in two more seasons, it will be even smoother. Timber Wolf actually has one of the best first drops on a woodie, IMO.

Wait... you enjoyed Boomerang? Nice job kid, but I hate to say that you got lucky. I've had an occasional semi-smooth ride, but usually, that boomerang is a crap hole. Congrats on the luck, though.

Aside from those things, nice Photo TR.

^ you made a lot of good points, and yes the very back of patriot is very forceful I enjoyed that part a lot! the weird thing i saw was that the train is hanging out passes the catwalks right behind the station, and i noticed there was still a ton of room in front of it.

Timber wolf wasw ROUGH, no joke. The entire time i was hoping i wasn't goin to die from shakin man syndrom. The train shakes so violently that my brother got two bruses on his left arm. We sat in the second to last car, in the back row of it and ho wow it ws painful. The first drop was especially rough, the train no joke shook atleast 2 inches back and forth and my brother was scared becuase it was so rough. And considering it's going to be re-tracked, i'll have to go ride it again sometime. You should have saw our on-ride photo, funniest picture ever!!
