onemorenightwithyou Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 So, as I wrote in my previous Photo TR (the Hong Kong Disneyland one) that I'm working this summer in Hong Kong. Well, on Sunday, according to the Lunar callendar, it's my birthday (even though my real birthday is on the 9th of July), so my uncle decided to take me out to go see Lamma Island. Now, I thought it wouldn't be boring and such, but well, you'll see I got to see more than I thought I would. I noticed in previous threads about Hong Kong, people had a lot of unanswered questions. If you have questions you'd like to ask, I could try to get them answered for you (seeing that I'm actually in Hong Kong right now). So anyways, onto my Photo TR: So, we were riding on the boat on the way towards Lamma island, when guess what I see from the back of the boat? Ocean Park, Hong Kong's second amusement park. The Mine Train Coaster at Ocean Park. The ride was running, but we heard no screaming or yelling. WTF? The notoriously painful Arrow coaster. I'm going to see if that's true on Sunday. I apparently live in the most densely populated places on Earth, Ap Le Chau, which translated means Duck Tongue Island. So does that mean that I'm going to turn into a duck? A Chinese vessel that holds insense after you make your prayer. Fresh Seafood... Chinese style... You point and order what you want, and they'll make it for you... I never knew that you could mix beer with Sprite, but apparently all Chinese people drink beer this way... weird... Fresh scallops and sea snails... mmm... snails... Calamari, Chinese style. It took my cousin five minutes just to take the batter off. Fresh Lobster... fifteen minutes before I took this picture, it was swimming in a tank. Tofu Desert sprinkled with sugar. I don't think this is a Dan-friendly food. They let us ride the "party boat" back home. A shot of the skyline, with random people inserted into it. A view of Hong Kong Island facing east. A government building. I wanted to take a nice picture of the waterfront, but the boat was vibrating so much, but it's pretty good none the less. It was a great end to a great night.
BiCoastal Kid Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 Is it possible that Ocean Park looks more beautiful from the water???
okinawaboy11 Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 Aw, your going to have fun at ocena park. Atleast I know I did. There were no lines when I went. It was great. When I went I stayed on the Kowloon side, at the YMCA. It was a nice hotel. We went over to the Hong Kong side for almost everything though. THe worlds fair was there, they had a lot of portable coasters. Like a small inverted coaster. It was like the hairbin inverted coaster from RCT. They also had the standrad Rechervon spinning mouse. Also, go to Victoria's Peak, the view is mindblowing. And if possible, go to the floating restaurant.
