  1. Congrats to the whole family! Kristen is gorgeous! My cousin just had a baby and we have 2 more due in the family over the next month. I have baby fever sooooo bad! My oldest son was a preemie at 31 weeks and weighed 4lbs 8oz (he was big for his gestation LOL!) . I'd forgotten how small that was until I saw the picture of Robb holding Kristen. Sure brought back a lot of memories. He's 7 now and begging to go on his first "grownup" coaster. Elissa, are you going stir crazy not being able to take her anywhere yet??? My son was born December 2nd, right smack dab in the middle of flu and RSV season, so the pediatrician had forbidden us to take him anywhere out in public until almost April! He spent Christmas Eve and Day in a bedroom away from the rest of our visiting family. A trip to the grocery store alone felt like I'd been paroled after being stuck in the house for so long! LOL Christie
  2. I'm tired of the political BS at work...
  3. Decendents of the Yeti, huh? Hmmm. Okay back to random, before we get fussed at LOL: I slept until 12:30 today and haven't even gotten dressed yet. Although I need to in order to go pick up my deliquents from school...
  4. I'll have to look that one up...
  5. I think my avatar is too big but I can't get it to shrink so that you can still read the words. It doesn't make sense without the words...maybe I'll change it totally.
  6. I feel sick, like I'm going to throw up. I don't want to work 12 hours on 3rd tonight. I hate the long weekend at work.
  7. I have several: Anything 80's (music, movies, etc) Teen Drama's (Dawson's Creek, Degrassi, especially) Bubble wrap... Sending butthead cops on crazy calls when they tick me off (I'm a police dispatcher). Sneaking up behind my fellow dispatchers and shocking them when I get up from my console. (For some reason, I am a static magnet in that room. I actually shoot blue sparks from my fingertips most times when I touch anything other than what's at my console.) Christie
  8. You know....I've kind of been craving that soup again...... See, I'm psycho...Er...I mean PSYCHIC.
  9. I guess this is just as good a topic as any to pop out of long time lurking: I started many years ago at Clemson University to obtain my BS in nursing. I succumbed to the temptations after being locked in my room at home for 18 years and rarely attended class. I transferred the next year to a nearby community college, and almost finished my associates in nursing (2 semesters to go) when I discovered I was pregnant with twins. I went into labor at 23 weeks and the twins both died. I dropped out of school and worked as an ER tech, eventually ending up as a 911 calltaker / police dispatcher, which is what I do now. I left school 8 years ago. This fall I went back to the same community college and started on my ADN again. I chose Tri-County Technical College because graduates from there are more likely to get jobs in the area even over BSN graduates from Clemson. It's 15 minutes from my house and hubby is the program coordinator for the Criminal Justice program and the men's soccer coach. Everyone loves him, so it makes registering and what not easier on me. Plus I received a scholarship thanks to him. I hope to either be a midwife (1st choice, but as liability costs go up, may end up not being as feasible) or I may continue on to become a Nurse Practitioner in Neonatology. I guess I'm too old for the WDWCP, huh? LOL
  10. I know! I know! They're building a nursery using drywall and Rob's craving lentil soup...
  11. Hi, all. I thought I'd introduce myself finally. I've been reading for a month or two now. I think I've made one, maybe two posts. I'm feeling a little intimidated because I don't know a whole lot about the coaster industry, but I know what I like. Also, this is a new interest for me, so I am not as knowledgeable about the different parks out there. I've learned a lot in the short time I've been lurking. I'm from SC. I'm 30 and married with 2 kids. Hubby is a cop turned narc investigator turned college professor teaching cops. I used to work in emergency medicine, but start a new job in a few days as a 911 dispatcher and am returning to nursing school in the fall. We went to DisneyWorld on our honeymoon in 1999, but I fit into one of the "do not" ride categories at the time (you can do the math on the kids and figure out which category LOL), so I didn't get to experience the more thrilling aspects of the four parks. I've been to Dollywood, Carowinds, SantaLand, Ghost Town in the Sky, Six Flags over GA, Universal Studios FL, and of course all 4 Disney World parks. Oh yeah, and the Pavillion at Myrtle Beach LOL. OUr boys are 6 and 5 and they've ridden some kiddie coasters and a pirate ship. One is a scaredy cat and the other is a daredevil, but too short usually, so they've cause a cut back on our more thrilling themepark visits. Hubby is like Elissa and won't ride anything that spins. He also is like Dan and doesn't like to get wet. Or he will but then spends the rest of the day whining about "chafing". He's read some of the trip reports though and is getting more interested in making this a hobby we can do together. So I am hoping there will be some coaster vacations in our future very soon. Hmm...what else? I found this site after searching for some WDW ride photos, so you could say my visits here "all started with a mouse". Anyways, I stayed because, quite frankly, the humor here is my speed and you guys absolutely crack me up. I also like the way Robb and Elissa and the other mods beat the trolls away. Christie P.S. I am also in the process of taming an 7-8 month old donkey jack. So I can't be all that bad, right?
  12. Anybody have any tips on taming an 8 month old donkey jack? I'm bored, frustrated with the donkey and ready to come out of lurking but can't think of anything "coasterish" to post. Christie "So does actually owning a live donkey earn me any cool points?" McCombs
  13. I don't remember how I found it and I haven't even been here long. I'm thinking I probably started at intercot (closet mouse freak and I admit it, okay? LOL) and got curious about a ride and did a google for photos and ended up here. I liked the personalities, the knowledge and the humor and have been checking in every day since, like watching a favorite show. I also love the coaster videos and plan on asking for some for Mother's Day. I ride down the road now listening to a CD or the radio and think, hey, that would make a good sound track for a ride video! (the soundtrack to the movie Driven is a good one if you haven't discovered it yet, btw ) Christie "I've come out of hiding" McCombs
