This coaster at Zoo Granby has a special significance for The Big Man, as you will find out in this episode! Also, for a zoo coaster, it is one of the better zoo coasters we have seen on our World Tour You can kind of call this a Big Mike Road Show exclusive, since there is barely even a mention of this coaster on all of Theme Park Review! The Big Mike Road Show calls this a World Tour because we bring you park reports from other countries, and this time we cross the border into Canada! Big Mike in Quebec to add to all the other state signs he has in his collection! Zoo Granby! Prices for an all day pass. Once into the zoo, you have to pay an upcharge for the 3 main rides I think. Honestly I can't remember, but I think the Big Man got in for free, so that is what is throwing me off Park map. Big Mike got his ticket for the coaster! There it is way back there, and that is a pretty big coaster for a zoo! Anaconda! Anaconda info such as price and height requirements. Lift. Train. Front view. Back view. Why do you think Big Mike looks so happy to be riding Anaconda?? Anaconda was coaster #900 for The Mighty Big Man!!! Now it is time to check out the other rides at the zoo, which are mainly small kiddie rides. Since the signs are in another language, I will just show them to you with no commentary lol. This Zoo Granby sign is out by the road as you enter, and it is special because..... ....... if we zoom in a little closer....... ....... and look way down here........ ....... we can find one of the few Mikestery Treasure Hunt Cards that still remain unclaimed to this day for the Big Mike Most Valuable Reader of the Year Contest!!! Hello Fantastic Valuable Big Mike Readers! It's Tuesday, and just like Thursday, that means Big Mike will show you something fun and exciting to do while out riding roller coasters! This episode shows Big Mike checking out a turtle release down in the Florida Keys, a side trip between stops at Uncle Bernies and Boomers, home of the Dania Beach Hurricane! You would have to check with the Turtle Hospital on when they do releases, but it is definitely worth the trip for sure! http://www.turtlehospital.org BIG HUGE EXCITING NEWS!!! The Big Mike Road Show has just hit a milestone number with the last episode posted..... THREE QUARTERS OF A MILLION VIEWS!!!!! Yep, you heard that correctly, "million". Wow!!! The Turtle Hospital in Marathon Florida! Rescue, Rehab, and Release! We are here today for the release part of it, but there will be another update in the future showing the whole hospital! Sombrero Beach is right down the road from the hospital and where they release the turtles. The beach is beautiful, and this big event will also be beautiful to witness. The Turtle Hospital ambulance has arrived with some precious cargo inside! There he is! The turtle's name is Karl and he has been rehabilitated and is ready to be released! Also, the bald guy you see is Jim Cantore from the Weather Channel, and he is filming an episode of Cantore Stories! Karl is the center of attention! Karl is getting lots of attention and love! Big Mike had to push his way in to wish Karl good luck and say goodbye. The last look at Karl close up. They start to unstrap Karl and the crowd is ready to see Karl be set free. They carry Karl out into the water. Karl gets lowered into the water. There he goes! Karl looks back at the crowd of loving well wishers. Karl waves goodbye to everyone for one last time! Absolutely! I am very disappointed in how these white duckies turned out, definately not up to Big Mike Road Show standards! Coasters are done, now to check out the old country charm of the park. Such nice theming, like this bucket that fell over and the flowers looking like water running out of the bucket. When Big Mike was done with the coasters and wandering, there were a lot of animals to see too. Turtles. Birds. Petting opportunities! Feeding opportunities! Up close lectures! Animal presentations! Animal shows too! The best part about this show is every animal performing is a rescue! Big Mike is very cool with that!! Dogs, cats, birds, ducks, and many more! Even a pig to tell us it was the "end" of the show! The great thing about The Official Big Mike Road Show T-shirt is that it attracts attention and is a good conversation piece! This family loved it and wanted their picture taken with Big Mike! There are some real shows too. If you brought any little ones, there was a nice kids area to play in. Actually 2 of them! Big Mike wanted to play there too and was all read to until...... ..... Out of nowhere, the Chuckster pops out and points out to Big Mike that this is a kids only area! Chuck protects his home park! I just took some pictures instead. Chuck said he had some free time and would show me all the water rides! I better not get soaked Chuckster!!!!!! Escape from Pompaii. Le Scoot! Chuck is ready! Big Mike is ready! Is this the 1st picture you ever saw with a lunch pail in an on ride photo??? Roman Rapids. Chuck is ready! Big Mike is ready! Big Mike got soaked!!! Chuck tried to pretend that he didn't know Big Mike would get so soaked, but the kid sitting next to him knew he was lying! Other rides at the park: Rhine River Cruise! Hey, look who it is! It's Benin and family! Nice to see you again because.... ...... now you can take this really cool picture of Big Mike on the cruise!! Turkish Delight! (Sounds dirty to me) Elephant Run. Trade Wind. 4-D movie. Der Katapult. Curse of Darkastle. Yes!! Single rider line! Big Mike is a big fan of single rider lines and this ride in general. Swings. Bumper Cars. The Flying Machine. Kinder Karussell. There may or may not be a ducky hidden in this picture! Time to go get some eats.... .... and play some games. I did need 1 credit at the park, but I also needed to find something I never saw before, Hummel Boy! He was hard to find, but Chuck showed me the way! After seeing Hummel Boy in Chuck's avatar for so long, Big Mike just had to get a picture with him! Lots of thanks to Chuck and Busch Gardens for a great day! Don't forget that you just need a picture in front of the park sign, the park does not have to be open yet!! To be a winner in the first round, all you have to do is go to an amusement park and get your picture taken in front of the park's name with a "I LOVE BIG MIKE" home made sign, then just post it in this thread! Thats it!! Simple as can be! (Check the picture at the bottom of this report as a perfect example from Mr. Bebe) The only catch to add some excitement to the contest is the park has to have a coaster and once someone posts that park, you have to find another park! 2. Once we have 128 winners advance to Round #2, Big Mike will send you back to an amusement park to take another picture of something different with a new sign and only the first half of people (64) will move on to Round #3 and then we do it all over again. We continue cutting the field in half until we have a Grand Prize Winner! 3. There is no rule #3, the contest is that easy! Big Mike will keep a running total for everyone on who has qualified so far and at what park, and how many spots are left to advance to the next round! Hello Valuable Big Mike Readers! Thursday programming on The Big Mike Road Show is the same as Tuesday programming, where you get to see somewhere out there on the coaster road where Big Mike visited and thought he could bring it back to TPR just in case you were ever in that area too! Todays episode of The Big Mike Road Show comes to you from the state of South Dakota, and the place is called "Wall Drug Store"! I made this stop after hitting the coaster at Boondocks in South Dakota and on the way to Badlands National Park! This place is kind of like "South of the Border", where you see sign after sign hundred of miles away to build the anticipation. Wall Drugs started as a place to get a free drink of water as you were passing through, and has evolved to a mega site with just about everything under the sun. It is touted as "America's Favorite Roadside Attraction!" There is free Admission to this 76,000 square foot wonderland of free attractions! I hope you enjoy! Peace, Big Mike Wall Drug Store! Located very close to the Black Hills of South Dakota! Wall Drugs started as a place to get free glasses of water way back in the day, so Big Mike had to get some water just for the history of it! Big Mike always gets the ladies. The courtyard in the middle of all the stores, restaurants, and other oddities has a whole bunch of picture taking possibilites like this stage coach.... .... bunny..... ..... horse ride..... .... railroad..... ..... a buffalo...... .... and finally a dinosaur, with an actual roar! Hello Valuable Big Mike Readers! Wednesdays here on The Big Mike Road Show will always have a trip report from a slighty smaller park! This trip report comes to you from way down south in El Paso Texas at Oasis Lanes. El Paso is a haul from anywhere, but when there is coaster credit to be found, Big Mike is your man to go collect it! This was a great trip as there was a huge storm rolling in and Big Mike was high tailing it there to ride the coaster before the skies erupted! As I arrive, I can see the coaster is not running, and even more bad news was coming my way. I talked to a guy in charge and he informed me that the coaster was sold and it would be moving to Canada, and that it had been shut down since the sale. In typical Big Mike fashion, I explained that I travel the World riding roller coasters, had come a really long way, and showed him my Official Big Mike Road Show T-Shirt, which REALLY comes in handy for situations like this! Seeing that a celebrity was visiting, he said he would try to start it up, but gave no guarantees as it was having problems going up the lift. All Big Mike needed was a chance, and that is where we will pick up the story on this trip report. View of the lift. Big Mike hoping for the best that the coaster can climb the lift. Try 1, roll back, try two, roll back, try three, roll back. Try four, Ka-Ching! Top view. Big Mike has much praise for this great guy who went well out of his way to accomidate The Mighty Big Man! Did I mention the coaster also lights up, which looks really nice when Big Mike positions it in front of the nicely colored sky. Night view. There were a couple other rides at Oasis Lanes too like the Dust Devil. Mirage Himalaya. Of course there is the bowling alley too. Oasis Lanes! A little bit of everything, way off the beaten path for The Big Man, but conquered nonetheless. Just in case anyone ever wanted to see what I call the "Just got a tough credit" smile, here ya go! Also smile worthy, other people came out after seeing Big Mike riding and got in line to ride also, but they all got denied lol! Also as a side note, Big Mike got out of there just in time! Just before airing this episode, I called Oasis Lanes to keep The Valuable Big Mike Readers updated, and the coaster is actually still at Oasis Lanes and it never went to Canada, but I was informed it is broken and has not run in a long time. Who better to present some really cool things to see than a guy that Travels The World Riding Roller Coasters??? This stop, Four Corners USA, is unique that it is the only place in the United States where four states come together in one spot! I made this visit between stops at iT'Z Family Food & Fun in Albuquerque NM and a visit to Park City UT to ride the mountain coaster there. The park big wigs came out to greet us, which is always a nice touch! Who knows whose big fat head this is blocking your viewing entertainment? Anyone who guessed Rich was correct! Rich is showing some of the free gifts we got as VIPs, a Balder hat and bunny ears! SPECIAL BIG MIKE 2012 DEBUT ON THE SPOT CONTEST!!!!!!!! Maybe it is just me, probably is just me lol, but I see a naked lady in that picture! Mark and everyone else got to sign Balder too, but how can Big Mike make his stand out among the rest?? Of course! Nail a Big Mike Road Show Pin right next to it!!! This stands out just as much as Big Mike's Gold shirt in coaster pictures Now it is complete! Is this smile on Jon's face due to all the fun VIP perks we just got or is he smiling because it is actualy time to ride Balder???? The highlight of the trip for The Mighty Big Man, BALDER! Two of the nicest people I have ever met ready to take on Balder. Here is the reason for the 70 degrees logo on the Balder hat we are giving away today if you guess how many duckies you found! Big Mike found Balder to be an endless airtime machine, and absolutely LOVED it! Here is my very good friend Dave on Balder and here is a story for you: Big Mike was riding Balder during ERT, and a combination of 3 things led to some trouble. The 3 things were: 1. Big Mike sitting in the back seat during ERT with his lap bar on the loose side. 2. Big Mike with long arms raised high above his head. 3. Balder being an ejector airtime machine with one headchopper located a little too low. Result - Big Mike smashed his hand on a headchopper!!!! I get off after smashing my hand and tell Dave, who is even taller, to be careful! Dave smashes his hand also even with my warning lol. To this day, my finger hurts every now and then and I say "Damn Balder"! Kanonen! Some pics of friends on Kanonen: Big Mike gets artsy! Lisebergbanan! Train. Riders. Lift. Track. Rabalder! Track. Hold on to your bunny ears Bill!!! Lift. Woo Hoo! Big Mike riding Rabalder completes all the credits at Liseberg!!! Big Mike really has a special place in his heart for Lou and loves seeing her have fun! Also note that Divv way in the back didn't have to hold his bunny ears like Bill did! Now that all the coaster credits were collected, it was time for a treat! We all stayed away from the Plopp though. Coasters done, treats done, now it was time to go play the crazy arcade games they have at Liseberg! Carrot toss into the horse's bucket! TPR takeover at the carrot toss! Egg toss too! Liseberg also has some crazy prizes too! Look at the size of these prizes!! TPR takover once again, and the good news is all we have to do is have ONE person win and it will feed all of us! If you are not hungry, you can also win microwaves and vacuums! Off to more rides, like the Kallerado! Yeah, you can say Big Mike is pretty stoked to be sitting next to Lou What do you think everyone is looking at?? Nope, it is not Lou making out with Big Mike sadly..... ........ It's this massive amount of wetness that lies ahead! The guys prepare for the impending doom. Poor Chuckster! Fudgey didn't fare any better. Have fun now guys, you don't know what lies ahead lol. Here is a nicely themed ride, The Jukebox! Big Mike sures does have a lot of pictures of Lou, now you know why Nice little hanging ride here. Big Mike enjoyed the ride, but could not figure out why.... .... they had a naked pregnant lady running around inside? I see you guys hiding over there drinking beers! Big Mike loves when Valuable Big Mike Readers like Edward comes out to say hello on the World Tour! Now it is time to check out some of the other rides at Liseberg: Liseberg also had some very pretty fountains, and what better place could there be to...... ...... have Robin check off Sweden off the Official Big Mike Road Show T-Shirt! Notice Robin is wearing a Big Mike Road Show Valuable Reader Pin! Robin presented Big Mike with a whole bag of pins that morning as a gift and that is how the pins started! The rest of the day and way into the night was spent just riding and re-riding Balder! Balder landed as a solid #2 on Big Mike's all time wood list! Liseberg was fantastic and I can see why Liseberg should be an add on to every single TPR trip!
