1. migth be just me who is extremely silly but is it true that you will close the site/forum down during the trip?
2. the most i have seen is persons on balder at liseberg they had 1 op taking tickets and measuring heights 1 op switching the lockers for the loose items 3 persons checking bars 1 at the panel and in addition they had one or two working the crowds but i think they were from guest relations from the look of their uniforms. and that line didnt have a boring pop machine, it had a fulled staffet snackbar the poorest staffet was also lisebergsbanan were i think they have a 4 or 5 train operation(im just guessing) there they had 1 op at the panel 1 op taking tickets and measuring heights and just 1 op to check the bars. He would just like wait for the gates to close and jog down the train to se that every bars was down if not he would staple you then raise his hand an dispatch(that sound like poor safety policy) and on this ride they encourage you to bring all those bags and items on instead of leaving them on the station and lockers are nonexistent
3. i know but i mean during a normal operation or something similar not during breakdowns cos then u get mechanichs and stuff, and it can get kinnda crowded. But does more ops make high capacity or do you find it to be a little more chaotic?
4. since ive only been to a couple of parks i have seen just a few coaster and i wondered how many ride ops do you usually see on on coaster? and which coaster have you seen the most ops and how many? here in Tusenfryd they have 2 on each coaster an maybe 2 on the very peak times
5. i would think any ride at tusenfryd is hard. Because they have usually only two ops on each coaster maybe 3 on the very peak times. During my work period there they would have to let people in to the boarding area check restraints and belts and dispatch after that they had to close and open the boxes for loose items. and all of this is done by 2 ops. And on the Looper youl have to manually open all the restraints that means one pedal to push hard down for each car(about 7) So if you wanna be a sport star. Start you career opping Speed Monster, Thunder Coaster or the Looper
6. other... You for those of you who havent try a pretzel loop. I tried the one at speed monster and its INSANE!
7. oki now i have never tried an launched floorless/inverter coaster but 0-135 in 3 sec won that be kinnda painfull for your legs when you have nothing to support them on?
8. my last was Speed Monster at tusenfryd, norway one of my top tens!
http://pictures.rcdb.com/picmax/tusenfryd/speed-monster25.jpg[/img] thank you rcdb.com for pic!
9. I was just browsing the site of the toilet humor park bonbon land in denmark. As you already know they have the dogfart coaster but when i read the description of their Gerstlauer coaster: Vildsvinet i saw this: Så kom og bli med på en orn'tlig Måtter-Fågger magekilende vill Rally-tur!!!!!!! translated: Come and go for a real MOTHER FU**IN thrilling rally-ride!!!!!!! i knew this park had some special humor but i had no idea thei said this and this is a family park here is the link(norwgian/danish): http://bonbon.net.dynamicweb.dk/Danmarks%20villeste%20rutsjebane-946.aspx EDIT: please excuse my english cos i am not very good with it as i am not from a english speaking country
10. every tower drop tower cos i hate heights but i still re-ride them every time guess its the thrill of it i love and i have been on a small skyocoaster once at tusenfryd that was the first and last time i almost crappedmyself haning in that little suit and never knowing when you are at the top. and worst is that you have to pull the cord yourself!
11. i didnt get to try everyone while i was there but frim what i tried i must say: Deja vù (that was was just extreme like nothing else i have tried!) Riddlers (still a uniqe experience for me) Scream (jeah i know it probably is the ugliest and least thinked-thru coaster ever made but i have a special love for those floors ust disapearing benath my feet:=D Goliath, Batman was good but a little bit to short:) And for Superman is didnt get much of it cos i was i my own thoughts when it launched and suddenly i was at the top. It is almost to quick to be a coster its more like a extreme thrill ride for me. And of course Cyclone which for my sake is the worst coaster i have ever been on! Slow trimmed down rough like hell and simply painfull. Still a good park except from that i would never hire any of those people where on my job. I dunno wether they are concentrating or drugged but if you look into their eyes i think youl fin emptyness at leat of those i saw. Magic Mountain Ride Zoombies. magick mountain is seeking persons for operating a ride you must be able of the following: *long hours on your fett *have an empty look *give the slow dispatch of trains your full prioity and make sure you take your time *do not respond to questions from guests *talk to guests like they are your arch enemy at least that was my experience of the park and the other departments wasnt better including guest relations. One good thing was that the day i was there then everything was walk on. And they even threw in a season pass thats like perfect since i live 4000km away
12. So today i had my first trip to Norways largest theme park: Tusenfryd, with mixed feelings since i am an former employe of the park and my memories arent that good of the park is runned. But my reason for comming was their newest addition Speed Monster! an intamin accelereator which i had hear nothing but good reviews of this ride:) it was cloudy and raining from time to time today and i met up with one of my friends who still works there and i got a free friend pass from him. i arrived the park at about 11 and everything was open. i must say that i am glad the weather was so bad cos the longets line for speed monster was 20 min and the park was almost empty!!! well i tell you about the SM first: this ride is awesome! ive never been on a intamin before so this was my first experience. The station is not themed at all and is made made mostly out of steel. Once airgates open this wierd safety spiel starts and it goes something like: "Tespilots prepare for launch shortly *beep* No loose objects allowed in cokpit, Check *beep* All loose objects must be put in the lockers on opposite side of station check *beep* Secure all pockets and close zippers, Check *beep* And again for your own safety no loose objects in the cokpitk, check *beep* All systems operative and clear, Zoom Zoom, Check *beep beep beep* one of the funny things to do while in the que is to whatch all the people trying to secure their OTSR cos i have to admitt they ware HARD to pull down. A lot of girls and boys needed help to pull them down. I dont really have a favoritte seat except from the front cos you will have better view but on the airtime side there is not much difference from sitting in the back cos the trains are so short. BUT be prepared that in the bak you will get your head banged heavy on the twists. Once the train is secured the operator goes to his panel and pushes the magic button and this huge engine roar sound from the the speakers on the launch track, the train pulls forward an connects to the catch car. The engine is still running. Trains goes a litte bit back, the anti-rollback fins goes down and the engine goes louder and ouder until your push heavy forward but still i must say the launch is 1. to short 2. no that forcefull after that youl go up a steep hill and enters the pretzel loop around the escalators to the park and that is the most forceful part pf any ride ive been on i scandinavia. if the ops havent stapeld you in the station the g-forces in the loop will. Then you enter the banked helix turn which is the most "boring" part and then a bunny hop over the escelators again and then into the first twist. the two twist are funny but can give you some pain especially in the back. After the twist which it takes very fast and at this point the trains tends to rattle a bit before the final turn onto the final brake run and you stop right behind the other loading train. this ride was great but i cant figure what designers and the park was thinkin of when they designed with only 750 ppl an hour capacity when it got up to 20 min line on a empty day when the weather was S**T. But stil finaly we have some serious steel coaster here in Norway. I think i got about 15 Rides on it. Tried all the seats and enjoyed the front best! Personally i didnt think it was that much airtime on it but that may due to me being spoiled with airtime on the Thunder Coaster. Overall a great little ride which isnt too extreme so everybody who is tall enough can enjoy it(to bad cos then the lines get even longer) Now for the parks 2nd largest ride the Thunder coaster which i personally found to one one the beat coasters on earth those i have ridden but now it have just become a pain not worse than the Cyclone at SFMM but still Painfull. The ride starts good as aways with insane airtime on the second hill but after that it just gets way to rough. Another very uncomfortable thing a about this is the retraints instead of the thin litte seat belt buckle on the side of your seat like on most coasters. This one has huge aircraft style buckles right in the middle and when the op staple you as ususally on this one in crushes your family jewels esppecially when your flying of your seats at the hils tight into the lap bar and in between you have the buckle of hell also called the "nutcracker". Its a shame because this used to be such a extreme good ride! rest of the park was alright everything was running on full capacity and nothing closed which made every other ride just walk on. another thing to mention about this park is the extreme prices, i know norway is expensive but this park is the worst. i had a large burger(140g) combo and it costed me 21 bucks. That is just to much! But still a fun day and for all you guys going there on the trip LOOK FORWARD. this park might have the most rides but the few they got is good! but bring your o wn food unless you want your budget to go up in ine day. PS: sorry, no pictures cos the girls i was with isnt that much into coasters as me and i pushed it enough going 15 times on SM if was to stand and pics of it to *dough* Jonas "loving speed monster" Ali
13. is that brake area the same area they use to weigh the train before the launch?
14. hypersonic seems to me to have one of the most insane intense launches evver, but if the launch would fail and the would not make the hill for a given reason. what system does it have to prevent a crash(if it has any) and how does it work? as i se it does not have the magnetic lowering fins as intamins does. any answer is apprecieted
15. could i have mine to location.no thanx:)
16. i found on pic of the the park which is an indoor park with at least one coaster i dont know what kind but you can figure http://archnet.org/mediadownloader/LibraryImagesBig/image/50410/0/IAA12976.JPG
17. sure i might be spending a couple of hours in istanbul while waiting for my flight so if i have enough time i might take a short trip to this park
18. thank you very much:) i didnt really expect it to be any there, but youll never know until you ask:) and thank you very much for the welcome:) ive been lurking around for a while but i just "had" to post this. by the way, I am norwegian also i havent tried speed monster yet but all the other ones in tusenfryd and liseberg and tivoli denmark. I have also been to magic moutain and to a few of the rides there and i must say that scandinavia beats magic moutain to the boots when it comes to quality(airtime, thrills...) but maybe not quantity:P
