Discovery Channel Needs YOUR help!

I just love the feel of a wooden coaster. More out of control. The ride changes as the seasons change. It feels more like a living breathing entity to me rather than just steel and rails. I love watching them bend and flex as the train runs the circuit. It's so graceful as the whole structure sways up and down as well as back and forth. Like it's dancing. They realy are the art form of engineering. My father was an engineer and loved coasters. I remember He and my brothers used to go to the Giant Dipper at Belmont park in San Diego and just watch it run before we rode it. We would walk around it and he would describe everything technically. From the negative and positive G forces to the structural engineering. They realy are very nostalgic for me. I also love the look of wood. It feels much more natural to me. As a kid I thought it looked like a giant spider web that you could slide on. Nothing beats a Great Wooden Coaster. I will take one over any piece of steel and wheels any day of the week. Guy "I'm just sayin'" Koepp -
We're getting a new ride? Cool! Anybody have any idea what it might be? I hope it's a CCI woodie up in Rapids camp. MM realy needs a Great wooden coaster. Especially since Knott's put one in last year. Ghost something or other? In other great news, Alana is pregnant and is Due in June. If it's a boy, we'll name him Jarett Wolf. If it's a girl, then January Rose. Guy "Proud papa!" Koepp Oh... wait... Sorry, I meant to post this 6 years ago. Oh S***! My kids have been in day care for 5 years! I guess I better go pick them up. Theme Park Review's SFMM & DVD Premiere Party!

You never know when you need a reach around. Hey EBL it was great to meet you at the party. Guy "Why are all my morning comments randy?" Koepp -
My pre-Scare dinner time is 5:30. I can change it if need be. I assume that you all will be getting the one that lets you into the park at 6:30. P.S. My wife in no way resembles poultry. Unless of course you are refering to her creamy alabaster skin rolled in flour, seasoned, and deep fried. Mmmmmmmm Alana deep fried!!! I drool in anticipation!!! But, since Alana won't be able to join us... I'll take the chicken. Mmmmmm chicken. Sweet artery clogging chicken. You taunt me! Guy "Ghostrider at Dusk. Heart attack at Sunset." Koepp

I like Colosus. We go way back. It was my first ride over 100' tall. I still ride it with a twinkie in my eye. (I actualy jam a twinkie in my eye because I tried eating one on it once and actually jammed it into my eye.) Sorry, I meant twinkle. I can't wait to take Jarett on it. He's only 4.5 inches away from his first trip. Now if I could somehow get them to remove those GD MCBR's. That double down was awesome. A huge pop of air on the 2nd down. Ahhh, good times. Good times. Guy "Travelin' down mammory lane... I say Mammory because riding Colosus was like gently resting my head upon an ample... Sorry, I drifted off there for a sec." Koepp

I am there. I'll be at the pre-scare dinner as well. You can get discount (cupons, coopons, koponz, tampons, whatever...) at burger King. that night will only cost 32 bucks. What is the pre scare dinner running this year? And why have I not been able to find tickets for it on line yet? I need my Knotts Chicken. I can't possibly ride Ghostrider untill I am one piece of skin away from blowing chow. Guy" I've never hurled on a ride. But I'm optomistic." Koepp

Try Bungie Jumping or Sky Diving. Sky diving especially feels like your flying. You don't even feel like your droping at several hundred feet per minute. It just feels like your floating. It's awesome! Bungie Jumping on the other hand feels like a controlled fall. From a real high tower. It's bueno cool as well. Guy "anything for a shot of adrenaline" Koepp

The Official TPR Knott's Haunt Meet
Guy T. Koepp replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hey Robb, You all are still on for the 13th right? I want to book my tickets for that night as well as the pre-scare dinner. Guy "Burger King has great deals on Haunt as well as the Whopper Jr." Koepp -
Hey guys, As always, you both throw a hootnanny of a shindig. The turnout was great. Congrats on the Video. It was awesome. It screams fun! You both should work for the United Nations. As embassadors of good times. It is so cool for me to meet other coaster geeks. Even though I suck monkey _ _ _ _ _ at the trivia. I realy need to get out of my backyard more often. That's why I'm so excited about all the events in October. Sorry to hear about RatTums. He will be missed. Guy" I'm a coaster enthusiast, and I'm OK with that" Koepp

I have to put my vote in for Expedition Everest. Just watching this monster get created harkens back to the old Disney Imagineering days. Incredible themeing. Great track layout. Super technology in the fabrication of this thing. I so hope Disney is back on track with the quality of old mixed with the technology of new. Black Mamba looks incredible as well. Phantasialand seems to always present great thrills incorporated into excellent themeing. After that I would say that The Voyage looks very impressive. It has my two favorite elements in a ride aside from themeing. Airtime, and lots of it! As well as Wood. I love me some good wood! One other point I would like to make is the fact that HW is well known for taking great care of their rides, so this one will stand the test of time like their other two world class coasters. After that my list just kinda dwindles off. Goliath at SFOG looks like a lot of fun with plenty of Air. Not having any MCBR's is always a huge plus, and, why I would choose it over the flyer we are getting here at the Mountain. As for our flyer... I realy think 6F as well as B&M have something to prove in the coaster world with this one. I realy need them both to step up to the plate to deliver a homerun. Aside from the fact that it is a flyer as well as going to be a big original design, we know nothing about this ride. With that said, watching it grow helps build excitement in and of itself. As for the woodie at 6FGA. I hate to say this, but knowing how the Flags do wood. This one might be "good, but not great" for a year or two, then will unfortunately fall to the mighty poor maintanance that 6F is known for. I pray that I am sadly mistaken on this one. Did I miss anything? Guy "I feel like I just wrote a novel" Koepp
