  1. Thanks! Is there a set date for when the east side closes in November? And if Jersey is open for HITP, does that mean it stays open until then all through November? Anyone know what the deal is with El Toro, I read a few pages back in the thread but it's mostly about JD
  2. Hey everyone, what's the park like early december? I've only ever been in late april and early may where i've yet to experience any crowds at all. i know el toro is down for the season (is it getting a full retrack in the end?), but i love kingda ka and zumanjaro, and would love to ride jersey devil. will they be open even if it's a bit cold? how are weekend crowds typically?
  3. So usually they open new rides memorial day weekend?
  4. hey whats springtime in the park like? i hate crowds and i know this park is one of the most continually crowded parks so trying to find days for next year to visit where wait times will be low. i don't know if queue times website is accurate but it seems that sundays in may and june (other than memorial day weekend) are the best bet. but easter sunday looks pretty quiet too, we usually go to great adventure easter sunday and everythings open, and the place is -dead-, does hershey usually have everything up and running in april or is there a lot of rides closed?
  5. a new superman? what would be the point. put in maxx force 2, sfne needs a launch coaster.
  6. lol, i rode dragster and ka from the front row 5 times each in the same week.. the difference in experience is so negligible to me. the theming, viewing area, and location in the park are considerably better on dragster. but as far as the actual ride experience? the launch, etc..? the launch on kk was better, there's no difference in "roughness" from the front row.. however the further you go back on kk the difference becomes very noticeable.. but you shouldn't be riding either from anywhere other than first row. and the infamous restraints... maybe if you're a really big person it could make a difference, but the OTSRs on KK don't ever touch my body and i'm 6' tall. so there was no difference there for me, i did not feel more restricted whatsoever. the differences between these rides has been severely exaggerated, and i'd say claiming TTD is 30x better than KK is the most hyperbolic exaggeration i've yet to come across.
  7. Was planning on visiting carowinds Saturday morning, it’s the only time I can visit, forecast looks pretty terrible.. will the park open? Does fury or copperhead run in the rain? I feel I might be getting a bust on this one, unfortunately my window Saturday only
  8. Thanks! Hows the single rider line on the two water coasters, if I wanted to re-ride later in the day when the kids are napping or something, does it move pretty fast?
  9. yeah i'm not big on flats, i'm going mostly the 4 big coasters and will join family in the waterpark afterwards
  10. Also, will be visiting next wednesday, I'm hoping it will be pretty quiet but if it isn't, what's the best plan of attack for Voyage, Legend, Raven and Thunderbird. What order should I do them to wait in line the least amount of time?
  11. yeah i was wondering, on wildebeest they'd always be facing forwards and i could wrap my legs around them.. but on mammoth they're kind of on their own and will have times where they can't see whats happening
  12. I don't think it's too intense but one thing is the water splashing in your face while you ride, particularly on Wildebeest, can make it feel like a bigger deal than it is. It's a bit hard to capture in words, one of those 'you'll know what I mean once you do it' kind of things. But if he's ok with those Disney rides then he'll be fine here cool thanks, which would be the best to start with, wildebeest or mammoth?
  13. How intense are the water coasters? My 4 year old is 42", are they generally too intense for a child that age? He enjoyed splash mountain and big thunder at disneyland but not sure how that compares. I'm going to do a lap as a single rider to check things out first, but just curious if it's the kind of ride that generally gets kids that young? My 5 year old is tall enough for Millenium Force at Cedar Point but obviously have not taken him on it yet Just wondering if it's one of those deals
  14. AKA its down for the rest of the season. has that happened before?
  15. has there been any announcement about what the problem is or how long it might take to fix? no mention of it on their website, not even on the skyrush page..
  16. Canadian long weekend, wonder how much traffic comes from north of the border
  17. Thanks! If I was to go on a Monday or Tuesday in a couple of weeks, how long could the wait for SV be on an average day that time of the year with good weather with/without a fast lane pass? No idea--I haven't been at this time of year since Steel Vengeance was built--but I will say that I have never, not once, regretted the purchase of a Fast Lane Plus at Cedar Point. It is always worth it. Cool, it would be $65 the day i'm there with the platinum pass discount, doesn't seem unreasonable if there's 2 hour waits on the big rides
  18. Damn! Makes sense I guess. What about with fast lane plus? Is the merge point pretty far back?
  19. Thanks! If I was to go on a Monday or Tuesday in a couple of weeks, how long could the wait for SV be on an average day that time of the year with good weather with/without a fast lane pass?
  20. If i have a platinum pass, can I get a Fast Lane Plus pass for the price of regular Fast Lane? Does it matter if I bought the platinum pass at another park? Thanks
  21. I mean, much like you're surprised about the forum's excitement over Hersheypark's upcoming coaster, we're surprised that you think the 78th best roller coaster in the world (Mako, according to our poll this year) is boring. And for the record, there are plenty of coasters with pretty much nothing but airtime hills that are ranked even better than Mako, such as Phoenix (#20), Balder (#30), and Shambhala (#42), to name a few. Not everyone gets a hard on for floater air. Some people like floater, some people like ejector, some people like neither and prefer positive g's, some people love inversions and find coasters without inversions boring, some people like woodies and don't like steel coasters. Some of us also don't care about mindlessly accumulating credits (WHAT?!??) It's ok for people to have different opinions and not love the things you love, there's no need for this silly gatekeeping..
  22. I think most people here just believe you should actually ride a ride before judging it. Forming an opinion on something that hasn't even had an official POV released is kinda silly. The one thing this community is trying to do in my opinion is break the mentality of entitled enthusiasts who think parks owe them something. That parks owe us constant record breaking intense crazy rides. That anything less will suck and be boring and terrible. We are the minority of any given parks clientele and parks don't owe us anything. I think this community is trying to just get people to go to parks and have FUN and enjoy every ride for what it is and not what "it should've been." How am I acting entitled? I don't care what Hershey builds, I've never been there, it's not a local park for me, I'm not complaining about it, I've even said it makes perfect sense for them to build this coaster.. all I said is it doesn't look that exciting to ME so I'm willing to go before it opens and that I was surprised that enthusiasts were so excited about it since it seems to bring nothing new to the table. If you're older than 13, the appropriate response is not "well you're a bitch and you should leave this forum!!!".
  23. I didn’t realize this was a community where everyone must like the same things, no one can have a different opinion, no one can be disappointed by a ride. What is this a cult? How insecure are you people that it literally angers you that someone doesn’t share your opinion on something, that you need that validation or you’ll have a bad day and start personally insulting the person over it? I haven’t been rude, all I’ve done is expressed a personal opinion that is completely reasonable.. and I’m being called a bitch and told to leave. Seriously get some help boys, that’s really fucked up. Man, what sad lives you lead.
