I am going to Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure this month and does anyone have any tips? (like what to do first, etc.)

I have never been in an accident but on Sat. I was at Astroworld and X-LR8 got stuck at the top of the lift hill for an hour and the ride workers left the people in the cart for the whole hour! Then, later, Serial Thriller got stuck at the top of the lift and was closed for the rest of the day after that.
