  1. Hi Robb Going to California for the first time ever at the end of the month, visiting Disney/SFMM/Knotts/Sea World etc. We're staying in Los Angeles - would you say I should drive up to CGA while i'm there? It's a 5 hour trip each way - but we've driven in the UK from Yorkshire to Thorpe Park which is around 4 hours. RailBlazer and Gold Striker look good but i've never really heard anyone talk about the park before. Is it worth a long drive to visit if i've never been before?
  2. I think it looks a lot better than the old designs though!
  3. Hi all I'm visiting Disneyland and DCA for the first time at the end of May. Does anyone know the liklihood of Disney soft-opening Pixar Pier/Incredicoaster before mid June? I know the official opening isn't until the 23rd, but I was wondering if anyone has experienced soft openings at DCA before. Thanks!
  4. Is it possible for them to reclaim more land from the sea there too? I agree its more likely to be somewhere other than the carpark.
  5. Awesome - have heard that ride was pretty bad.
  6. Yes, it was probably your seat... The problem was that your seat was connected to an X2 train, that's why you had a sh*tty ride. Next time try riding in a seat and row that's connected to a Tatsu, Ninja or Twisted Colossus train and see if you have a better experience. It surprises me, the only 4D coaster i've ridden is Eejanaika at Fuji-Q and it has the new S&S trains too. It runs pretty smooth. It's a wild ride, but it wasn't painful or rough for us anyway. We sat in different positions on the train. Love that ride!
  7. I'm assuming that in reality, the kart's throttle would become controlled by a system to ensure that stalling and rollbacks didn't happen. This makes sense to me anyway.
  8. Haha, thanks for the replies. I'm guessing it's a no on Cyclone then?
  9. Hey all. Another dumb question! I'm going to New York in February, and wanting to see if theres any attractions/parks/rides worth going on? I know the closest Six Flags is closed at this time of year (boo), does anyone know if Coney Island Cyclone is available at this time of year? Their website doesn't say yet. Had a look online and seems like there's not many coasters, but there are some decent attractions around. First time there, we have 10 days and i'm travelling from England so want to make the most of it!
  10. Thanks for the info everybody, really appreciate it. I will be hiring a car (maybe something cool through Turo) so transport shouldn't be a problem. In Tokyo last month we set off at 5:30am one morning to make it to DisneySea with plenty of time, should be all good!
  11. We like to do other touristy stuff, museums and other interesting things are fun. Just wanted to make sure I didn't get back to England and then kick myself for forgetting about a themepark haha
  12. Haha, i'm not used to how big the USA is, didn't come into my mind that it would be a 5-6 hour drive. Not sure if it's worth it for those parks really - that RMC Monorail Coaster looks cool though. Thanks!
  13. Hi everyone. I've only ever been to Florida, and all it's theme parks in the USA. We are going to California on 28th May for 2 weeks - and to be honest I didn't realize how many parks were there. So far we've got tickets for: - Disneyland + California Adventure - Sea World San Diego - Six Flags Magic Mountain - Knotts Berry Farm Is there something else I should be looking at maybe booking tickets for? Is California's Great America worth a visit? I've never heard of it to be honest, but Railblazer looks great. I know I could look at a list of California parks, but there's a lot - I want to go to the more notable ones/the most thrilling rides. Just wanting to make sure I don't visit and forget anything! Thanks all.
