  1. I'm starting to think this announcement's not happening...
  2. I'm REALLY curious as to what they're replacing Mt. Slide Hai with. A water coaster would be nice, but I kind of enjoyed those slides too and hope they build a newer, better slide set up...
  3. The raptor track is intended to be a stock ride, cloned like the S&S free spins for example. Doubt this is for KK since the layout would be too similar to LR. Oh I agree that it would be too similar to Lightning Run. Ed has mentioned in the past his desire to have a new B&M, yet he also mentioned shortly after Storm Chaser opened having already talked to RMC about a new coaster. Putting two and two together, I figured we'd see a T-Rex tracked coaster. However, if this is truly something they're wanting to have by 2018, then I would think they'd have to start at least on the track by now....hence why the Raptor tracks in the picture might be for Kingdom after all.
  4. I have a feeling this is for Kentucky Kingdom, and I was really hopeful we'd be getting a T-Rex instead...but hey, I'll be happy with this.
  5. I think a Sky Rocket 2 would be a great addition to the park and I hope we get one, but I think Hart's thinking bigger. He's mentioned in the past wanting another B&M Coaster to replace Chang, even going so far as to get into a bidding war for the Time Machine coaster from the defunct park in South Carolina. He's also mentioned, in a recorded interview back when Storm Chaser first opened, that he's already having talks with RMC about a new coaster. Personally, I think if you do the math he may be talking a T-Rex tracked coaster coming down the pike. I say T-Rex and not Raptor because the Raptor design is (for obvious reasons) very similar to Lightning Run and thus having two very similar coasters wouldn't make sense...not would the Raptor be "big" enough if he's genuinely interested in something more akin to a B&M.
  6. If Ed's mentioning another large coaster, he already has a pretty damn good idea as to how it's going to effect attendance. He's a smart guy who's gotten this park to where it is today in short order. Believe me, if he's openly musing about it, his mind's made up and he knows his answers.
  7. I've not been to Kentucky Kingdom, even going back to the Six Flags days, to where I couldn't just walk onto Thunder Run or wait two runs TOPS before riding. I don't think there's a real necessity for a second train.
  8. I don't think T3's all that bad, personally. No, it's not GREAT, but it's hardly the god awful coaster folks are making it out to be. The poster who said he doesn't know anything about running a park but thinks keeping it closed would be "logical" proved that he does, indeed, not know anything about running a park.
  9. I don't know the first thing about owning a park, but I feel like keeping T2 closed until removing it would be logical and getting a better coaster to replace it would have been a better plan. I'm not sure the majority of park goers feel as passionately as we do. Keeping a ride SBNO doesn't seem like the best of plans. Or perhaps Hart and Co. hoped the new trains would be a bigger help than they've been?
  10. I share this sentiment. I don't mind T3, but if it were to be replaced by something better it certainly wouldn't hurt my feelings any. It's gotten fairly long in the tooth.
  11. Speculation on multiple coaster sites/Youtube channels of RMC T-Rex or B&M Hyper. Is there anywhere in the park they could build a B&M Hyper though, with height restrictions and all? When I say "sizable", I'm talking more "Chang" vs. "Lightning Run"...lol, not Diamondback.
  12. It's not really jumping to conclusion, it's connecting obvious dots that were laid out in an obvious manner by Ed Hart himself. I'm not going to be butt hurt if it's NOT a new coaster, but Ed's all but drawn out in crayon that there'll be a new coaster in 2018 or 2019. If they're announcing their plans so early, this seems indicative of just such an announcement as a new major attraction such as a coaster would be difficult to hide from the public and thus you'd want to announce it and build anticipation early. I guess there's buttheads on every message board though, who like feeling cool for whatever reason instead of being a contributing part of the conversation...
  13. I think the shed could be repurposed into either a food option (which that area of the park is lacking) or maybe even souvenirs. I doubt they keep it as storage.
  14. If they're announcing in the spring, it means they're building something that's going to take more than just an off season to build, and is big enough that they can't really hide it from the public while it's being constructed. That's not just indicative of a new coaster, but a new sizable coaster of some form.
  15. I Feel like this thread is in danger of devolving...
  16. A new coaster for either 2018 or '19 has been rumored for awhile now, so you may be on to something. Hart himself has said in the past that he'd like to have another B&M Coaster (even trying like hell to get Time Machine), and has recently said he's been talking to RMC for a new coaster of some form. Put those two ideas together, and I still think we may see a T-Rex coaster at the Kingdom in the near future.
  17. Restaurant or a gift shop...either could be good ideas. Load the ride from where the old stands use to be.
  18. If it were a bigger attraction, I'd say they could repurpose that into a station...but seeing as it's not, and I can't imagine such a ride would attract a long enough line to need it, I'm not really sure to be honest.
  19. Eye of the Storm is officially going where the dragsters were, much to nobody's surprise, according to a recent picture posted on their facebook page.
  20. It's definitely a great "off year" addition. I can't wait to get to the park next year, already!
  21. Hey that's one of my favorite movies. I got my Rob Zombie movies switched around; Rabbit in Red is from Halloween. Which I love as well. Most of it anyway. So this Super Loop Kentucky Kingdom is getting, is it the same model all the Six Flags have been buying up? Is it the larger Larson Loop? I thought there was a huge one they offered, with more seating. I know they had a winged model as well. You did, but that's OK. I wasn't going to call you out on it. Lol
  22. I'll be honest, I didn't realize we had so many other things in the park that were built by Larsen. In that case, it makes absolute sense that Ed would go for a Loop as well because the guy really likes showing loyalty towards providers. Vekhoma was a favorite of his during his first stint leading the park...
  23. Lol I didn't expect anyone to catch the obscure reference.
  24. I'm sure they could add it if they ever really NEEDED to, and honestly I'd love to see the ride's popularity grow to where it's a more legitimate conversation to have...that being said, I've never been to the park and NOT been able to just walk on and ride whenever I felt like it.
