  1. If the park with no new looping coaster in 35 (36?) seasons removes yet ANOTHER ride that goes upside down (Skyscraper being the other) welllllll... A Sky Roller would be great! It's as hardcore as you'd want it to be. While I wouldn't be angry with a Giant Frisbee, I don't see the point with a Screaming Swing already here. I'd be highly disappointed with a Windsucker. In my dreams, they'd only prep that space, the 'Galaxy Stage' across from That Other Nearby Stage and other areas for a Real Coaster in 2018 while they dropped KBF's Tornado in Soak City. Not that it's a realistic thought, but for what it's worth... There's my two cents!
  2. It's today all day 'till midnight. So there's that.
  3. Easy to answer: That's not their only kid. Plus there's probably extended family that wants to go, too. Aw, that's too bad. I started taking my youngest every other weekend when she was maybe a year and a half old. It's a much better park for kids now than it was then... If they wanna give VF some refurbished European rides...why not CP's Bayern Kurve mothballed years ago?
  4. Hunkering in the shade Benches? Ha! Not in the waterpark, they won't. People try to hunker in the shade on hot days when all the seats are occupied. Meanwhile, a 30x60 square foot space they could furnish seats...? Unused. Nobody wants to play volleyball. FIGURE IT OUT. And if they did? There's another court they could use. More shadeseekers I'm not going to specifically point out the two mothers--each with infants--squeezing under the narrow roofline in this photo. But you and I can both guess they're not having the Best Day Ever. While I'm railing about the waterpark, I'll leave you with this photo. In which there are MORE WAITING TUBES for their Lazy River than people waiting in line. Trust us. We counted. It's one thing to work with small CapEx budgets and another to service the guests and attractions on hand so poorly. This was July 9th. My wife and I haven't visited the park since.
  5. Yeah, but once they TwitterFaced a 'great new addition' that turned out to be those VOLLEYBALL COURTS. I'll decide when a Valleyfair announcement is 'thrilling' for myself. Thank you very, very VERY very much.
  6. That has more to do with the entertainment budget going t'wards the new show. The theater's not going anywhere. They just installed additional equipment this spring. And the ComedySportz improv team will pack it out come Halloween.
  7. Wow, no exit pool. Very, very interesting. VF's Soak City lacks tube slides more than anything else (*cough* besides CHAIRS AND SHADE), but I'd say that's not a good fit. We'd need slides that could handle double tubes for capacity's sake. I'd post a pic of SFGAM's Hurricane Mountain (twin two-man toilet bowls, two more double tube slides, two taller dark body slides above that), but I won't. It would only make us very sad. ETA: Forget I typed ANY of that. That thing's damned near perfect.
  8. Thirty-five seasons without a new looping coaster will do strange things to you. VERY strange.
  9. I don't care much what they call it. The fact that actually matters is that it's not HERE.
  10. Fine, I'LL complain. Dorney already had two B&Ms, got a copy of the most modern coaster VF has to offer and THEN got yet another looping coaster. Wha....??!?! Why would CF ship Dorney an additional looping invert, skipping a park that had none? Secondhand or not? I'ma tell you what. I cackle with glee every time ETA: Stinger breaks down. Again. Rightly or wrongly, I interpret that as the Coaster Universe squaring up with Cedar Fair. Do I sound bitter?
  11. I don't think they'd do that with any coaster. Do you realize how much lower that land is than anything else in the park? Unless they used the area previously occupied by the Antique Cars. That's high enough. As for Pacific Spin...? If that came to VF, my wife would stop all bitching about the park for at LEAST five years. And rent $15 lockers. And buy a Dining Pass, an extra parking pass and she'd rent a cabin every weekend. They don't even have cabins. She'd rent one ANYWAY. It means so much to her, I refuse to tell her that rumor. Cuz if it didn't happen? Oh, wow. Next time I see Dave Frazier, I'ma tell him not to come home without Pacific Spin. Think I won't...?
  12. Good heavens, no. I'm hoping KI builds it as close to their other wooden coasters as possible. 'More of the same, within sight of each other' appears to be their specific Cedar Fair 'brand.' You know, kinda like Invertigo and Banshee.
  13. That's only cuz the VF thread's more interesting than theirs. Otherwise, they'd find somewhere else to post.
  14. No new looping coaster in Thirty. Five. SEASONS and fanboys are quibbling about signage. What goes best here? A Flavor Flav 'Wowwwwww' or a high-pitched Chris Tucker DAYYYYYYUM....?
  15. My fault, wing coaster. Tho Wild Eagle's layout doesn't utilize the trains very well. It could just as well be a floorless or an invert. Semantics aside, it's still worth paying $11 to secure your valuables at a park with more to offer. Actually, VF's $15 renter will cost you $8. And if a CF park isn't up to snuff, guess what...? That's not my problem. It's theirs. I'll spend my money where and when I please.
  16. To phrase it kindly. If they want $15 from me for a locker rental? They'd better post up a couple more looping coasters and a half-dozen more waterslides. For (bleep)'s sake, I paid less for a large locker at Dollywood--and they've got CINNAMON BREAD. Oh right--a B&M flyer too. Was there a multi-lift looping Gerstlauer to boot? Maybe. Where was I? Right! CINNAMON BREAD.
  17. 75 cent lockers? Where? if they moved them, I'd love to know where. Otherwise, they've killed them for 2016 like Kenny on South Park.
  18. It's annoying as hell and sends the Missus and I thru the gates a bit crabby. Of course, we're accustomed to parks with dedicated detectors AND enough staff on hand to get you checked/on your way quickly. Someone should ask Matt Ouimet if The Other Guys' efficiency makes them 'generic.'
  19. That's not 'dropping the ball,' that's 'shooting the fish in the barrel.' Given all the compelling reasons Not To Bother With WOF (a real B&M and a RMC @ Branson, SFStl, Schlitterbahn), they're gonna have to come in cheaper than a park that's the only game in town.
  20. Speaking of 'new midways' and Ouimet's principles of allowing non-riders to interact with coasters...? You can't help but wonder/wish if there wasn't a way to get the GP around more of Renegade. It's as pretty--if not prettier--than a great many marquee coasters out there, but most visitors never get to see its good side. I've no idea how they'd do it. But if you ask me, it's worth doing.
  21. But I drove in from Anoka--wait, no--BURLINGTON VERMONT--with Ghost Uncle Pete, who only materializes once every four hundred years. Today was his day and he wanted to ride the Flying Cows.
  22. Guess who I am: Valleyfair is the most HORRIBLE godless place on Earth cuz they won't open the park on the Two Most Popular days of the year on the OFF chance me and my family might show up. This violates my human rights, my inexpensive season pass, my personal freedom and liberty, the Constitution and everything Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Slayer fought for.
  23. Meanwhile, VF's new attraction is being marketed as the return of a ride from the 70s. And the Antique Autos marketed as their return after their removal. You're making vast assumptions based on a single sentence you were told secondhand.
  24. Clearly, you don't understand what's being said. Local folks automatically associate turkey drums with the RenFaire. They automatically associate food-on-a-stick with the State Fair. What SPECIFIC food do people associate Valleyfair with....? Nothing. You know what they should do? Maybe next season, as this one's already underway? A guest-driven 'Make the Official Valleyfair Dinner' contest. Solicit entries Jan 1st via Facebook, bios for the finalists in March-April, 'auditions' and votes at the food stands in May-June, 'winner' on July 4th. BOOM.
