Honestly I think The Varsity was the best part Anyways, they told us the news about GASM during the event but were sworn to keep it a secret until the park made the announcement this morning. Also, they said that they will not be using its regular trains but instead be using the trains from the former Georgia Cyclone. Can’t wait to try that out!

I had the opportunity to attend the ACE Winter Warmup at Six Flags over Georgia this past Saturday. The event included a hard-hat construction tour of Twisted Cyclone. Unfortunately it was too muddy to go through the inside part of the structure but we still managed to get some good views from the road adjacent and from inside the park. They also had the lead car of the red train on display. To give a quick update, they said that track work is about 25% complete. They are still on target for a memorial day weekend opening. Also, they are renaming/retheming the British section of the park into the “Coastal” section, in order to fit the theme of Twisted Cyclone. Johnny Rockets is receiving an overhaul and will receive a new roof. The park will be renaming the French section of the park as well and it will become the “Piedmont” section to give the area more of a Georgia theme. Here are some photos: A huge thank you to ACE and the park on such a great event this year! One of my favorite RMC train designs so far. Cannot wait to see this area transformed! Notice the new red-ish roof shingles The reverse cobra roll has yet to be installed. The whole structure was repainted a whitish-gray color as shown here. Can’t get enough of this short but sweet-looking drop. Beautiful blue track Another look at that awesome drop.

Spent a few hours at the park tonight to check out Holiday in the Park. Crowds were pretty heavy the whole time. We only waited 15 minutes for both Goliath and Mindbender and my ride on Golith tonight ended up being one of the best ones I’ve had all season long. Operations were pretty good tonight as well. In regards to Twisted Cyclone, I managed to take a couple of quick pictures of the progress. Not much has changed from last week but just a few more pieces of track were installed for the pre-lift and also at the very end of the brake run as you pull back into the station.

I have ridden the coaster several times this year after the May/June 2017 downtime and I will say that the "slowdown"at the top feels a little more noticeable compared to my rides back in mid-March and last year. However, the rest of the ride feels nearly the exact same but maybe just a tad less intense. I just wasn't ejected at the top anymore. It really doesn't bother me unlike some people on other coaster sites and on social media. It's really nothing to make a big deal out of. I'm just glad that the coaster has been running more consistently the past few months. -

Ride wait times are working fine for me and I updated the app about an hour ago (IOS for me). I really like the new update. In addition to the wait times, it also mentions the height requirements of that specific ride right next to the current wait. Ride descriptions have also been added to the wait times list. The app pretty much has a whole new look. -
A new teaser was posted by the park not too long ago over on their facebook page. Though I'm not able to post it, it seems to be pointing towards an S&S Freespin.... or it could be a red herring just to throw us all off (I'm still leaning towards an RMC redo of Cyclone but I'm a little torn between the two at the moment).

Six Flags over Georgia does not need another low-capacity coaster, so I don't see a Raptor ever going in (or at least not anytime soon). Therefore, I'm still leaning towards an actual RMC conversion of GA Cyclone. It's true that not every footer is marked. However, the only ones that I noticed were marked were the ones that the actual wooden beams were attached to. There were a lot of unused footers that had no markings on them. The exit queue was also marked. That being said, most evidence is pointing towards a full RMC conversion. With the coaster now closed and the fact that this has followed the trend of other Six Flags parks with RMC-converted coasters, it seems very likely at this point. If they were to tear it down, I would see an S&S Freespin in its spot, but I doubt that at the moment.

Anyone ridden all the RMCs yet?

I can finally say that I have now been on more than one RMC! Yesterday I made it out to Kentucky Kingdom for the first time in years (last time was way back during the Six Flags days). I was really impressed with park in general and Storm Chaser ended up being my favorite coaster in the park. Out of my two rides on the coaster, I found the front to be a lot more fun. Anyways, my rankings as of now: 1. Lightning Rod 2. Storm Chaser My list should have Twisted Colossus included, but unfortunately it was closed during my first ever visit to Six Flags Magic Mountain back in May. Hopefully by next year I can add two or three more to the list. -
Took a brief visit to the park today and got my final ride in on Georgia Cyclone. The park is pretty crowded today and most waits are averaging around 30+ minutes. Justice League broke down while we were in line waiting, and Monster Mansion went down as well. Other than that, our main focus today was riding Cyclone for the last time before it closes after next weekend. Also, not sure if this has been posted yet, but the park now has the "Something big is coming.." banner up on the side of Cyclone's storage shed.

When they mentioned the fact that RMC was working on 7 different projects that included one which was "shipped to Japan", I'm assuming it was the track for the S&S free spin that already opened up this year over there. I believe that some of those others of the 7 may also be the manufacturing of more S&S track. I may be wrong though. Regardless, this video got me really hyped! I really hope Georgia Cyclone is one of those projects. We already have the RMC Mean Streak/Hurler projects and the Mean Streak one will most likely break some records.

I'm currently at the park after spending most of the day here. Unfortunately Lightning Rod seemed to be having some hiccups today. I've watched two launch failures from the queue (both occurred within 30 minutes of each other). Riders were evacuated each time and the coaster went down during each. The same exact thing kept reoccurring nearly everytime the coaster reopened. Luckily I was able to score one ride in this morning after the park opened. I do have to mention that the crest of the hill feels a tiny bit slower than before but the launch and the rest of the ride are still insane. Still lots of great airtime and nothing feels any different in those parts. Overall a great day at the park, and was able to ride every coaster in just under 90 minutes this morning. I also tried Whistle Punk Chaser for the first time and it was a little jolty but still a good addition for younger ones. -

Were there any signs of any work being done on the 2nd train down beneath the station? I don't think they've ran the 2nd train at all since the reopening. While checking the app occasionally the past few days, I have noticed an uptic in "TCs" with the coaster but still seems to be running somewhat better than before the closure. I do wonder what could be preventing them on running both trains at once as the capacity seems to be hurting right now with just one train ops. -
Just returned from an early afternoon visit to the park. Crowds were slightly heavy but not too bad overall. Most people seemed pretty spread out throughout the park. Temperatures were borderline hot but not too bad. Unfortunately we didn't stay as long as we originally planned, but still had a good time. My highlight of the trip was obviously the Justice League ride. I thought it was pretty awesome. It was my first time on the attraction and I think it was a great addition to the park. Only had to wait about 30 minutes. I love the fact that now there's two indoor attractions in the park, perfect for those Georgia Summer days. Dare Devil was down the whole time we were there, but maintenance was actively working on it. Most coasters were running multiple trains which really helped with the waits. Lastly, let me quickly mention GA Cyclone. I ended up trying row 11 (described as a magic seat from a previous poster). I gotta admit, it was a lot more enjoyable compared to last season. Both trains were running which I was glad to see. Still pretty rough, but the airtime is great. Yes Overall a great day at the park. Some pictures to follow: Happy 50 years, SFoG! Nothing to see here. Still nothing to see here. Just a random green dot. Green dots everywhere More markers The Justice League building looks great! Loving the fresh new paint job on Superman

^ How were the crowds last night? I'm heading there today and will spend most of the afternoon there. The plan is to arrive by opening. As far as Cyclone, something in my mind is still saying that it's gonna be torn down for an S&S Freespin. That piece of land is a great spot for one as its pretty narrow. Personally I would prefer one to be installed somewhere else in the park. Having Georgia Cyclone torn down would indeed be devastating, just as you said. While I'm hopeful for an RMC treatment, I would rather the coaster receive some major TLC. Any of those two will be better than a total teardown, though.

Are they still running only one train? I read on Twitter that the coaster opened with just one train ops earlier. -
In my opinion, it's hard to say. There are markings on the footers of GA Cyclone but that may not mean anything's really gonna happen. One other theory I have is Six Flags tearing the whole coaster down and building an S&S freespin in its spot. The plot of land would be great for a more compact coaster like those freespins. If that happens (regardless of where one may be built in the park or when) then I can see them using a name other than the Joker since two other Joker-themed rides already exist in the park. Honestly, its really hard to say since this is all just speculation. I would rather have them keep GA Cyclone and at least refurbish it or have RMC come in and perform their magic rather than having the park tear it down completely. My trip to the park got cancelled last Tuesday due to the rain so we're gonna attempt another trip this coming Tuesday. Can't wait to try out the JL:BFM.

^ I will actually be there on the 8th so I can't wait! I do have a feeling they're using both of those dates as an experiment. I would for them to continue this in upcoming years and make it a tradition! -

^ I really don't see a difference comparing both videos. I ended up timing them as well, and they pretty much matched up with what you said. So the coaster seems like its still hauling tons off a$$. I saw another video on instagram and it showed the train still flying through that non-inverting half loop just like always. -

+1 All coasters are designed to operate within a certain margin, it's almost impossible to stay at or under the specified speed every time based on train weight (which is different every time). This. That rumor should've never started in the first place last year. Anyways, I'm just gonna post this here just to show how stupid people are these days. This was found in the comments of the WBIR post on facebook from last night: -

^Haha. These rumors have been all over the place with this coaster from the beginning (even with the GP). It's hard to believe anything as we keep hearing so many different things about what could've been wrong. But as I said before, let's just be glad the coaster is finally open again and hope it stays like that for as long as possible.
