  1. My first was Tsunami at M&D's in Scotland. Took me ages to build up the courage for it and then I finally went on it. I loved it but then I got scared of it again for some reason and didn't go it on for another couple of years. And it's so small...
  2. Maybe you should have a look at something called "The Stella Awards". Actually started by someone inspired by the McDonalds coffee case. Have fun looking at all the amazing decisions made by juries. It really does make you wonder...
  3. "The vegetraian penguin who was climbing over a rock to find a mate but then fell off the rock twice and began flapping aimlessly about the ice and ending up right back where he started roller coaster" It's not very catchy but you didn't specify how stupid the answer could be.
  4. The articles I've read though do seem to make it fairly clear that the responsibility lies with the teacher and not Cedar Point. And since the park seems to have returned to fairly normal operation, maybe something else is going on? Still kind of undecided about this but I guess, in time, we'll find out anyway.
  5. Well Alton Towers seemed to handle the situation pretty well. Plus, I haven't heard about any large announcements they were due to make about new coasters and such like. Awkward timing and circumstances more than anything else.
  6. I don't know what it is about some people. Some find these rides incredibly dangerous, for the most part for no reason (looking at you Action Park) other than an excuse to be over-protective and then others break the rules with abandon assuming they'll always be Ok. I feel sorry for the guy's family of course but I just don't have any time for people who have other safe options to retrieve things, enjoy the ride, whatever... And then don't use them. Same for people who ignore the "Do not stand up" signs. What do they think is going to happen? Unless it's a stand up ride, don't stand where you're not supposed to. Is that really so hard to follow? I guess in the heat of the moment, misjudgements are made and unfortunately, it cost someone their life this time. Same as it has before. It's still just so unnecessary.
  7. Well they seem to take safety as a high priority as they should. I say "seem" because I've never been to Japan but they cover an awful lot of their rides in catwalks to the point where it might detriment the ride experience. Either that or jet coasters are just designed in that particularly interesting... yes, interesting style.
  8. The Pepsi Max Big One at Blackpool (like I would need to say where it is). Also the first and only hyper coaster I've been on. It's a shame the UK doesn't have a few more than it has.
  9. I guess my first one was the Coca-Cola Roller Coaster at Rainbow's End in New Zealand back in 2009. Pretty smooth actually for your average loop-screw ride.
  10. Hello to anyone who's reading this. My name is Chris. I live in Scotland and I'm studying Civil Engineering with Architecture at Glasgow University. I guess you could say I'm more of a regular over at SSCoasters but I'm a bit of a full-sized theme park nut as well and have been following Theme Park Review videos for a pretty long time so I thought I'd join here and be a bit more up to date with what's going on.
