Canada's Wonderland Discussion Thread

So members on the CWmania FB page are saying they were talking to employees at the park and they did mention a 2016 Coaster. One member even messaged asking about an Announcement and Wonderland replied to be stayed tuned for them. So if we were to get a coaster and footers begin mid June. Then it would be small. Maybe a Mid Sized Dive Machine just a bit bigger than Kraken at Europa Park in Germany, Which I wouldn't mind. But I hope it has more than just 1 inversion.... and a Water brake run. Or maybe (But doubtfully) we get a Coaster like the new Batman ride in Texas. The 4D Multidimensional Coaster which would be like a Wing Rider. Maybe a mix of Batman and X2 so it has Turns. I wouldn't mind that either. Only time would tell -

Land clearing is being groomed up for grass...... just every time we see a machine it gives us hope then they put grass down and just disappoints us -

Ya on the CWMania FB page, Josh mentioned that it is Six Flags exclusive for an RMC which sucks.... So no RMC for sure. So 2017 Coaster is on the horizon.... but I really really was hoping for something awesome in 2016 -

Well Time Warp and Back Lot Stunt Coaster (Italian Job at the time) were both built in a two year period. So again, Anything can still happen. Guardian was somewhat around $10Million and so would an RMC upgrade on Minebuster... Then I can see a 25-30 Million Dollar coaster in 2017 -

RMC Iron Horse on Minebuster is now something I put on the betting table for 2016. Around $10-$15 Million. Then Project Skyrider replacement will be 2017. But if maybe by any chance we get a flat ride... I do hope for something like Spin Doctor at Black Pool Pleasure beach, because I loved that Mach 3 one at the CNE and Ride it every year I go to the EX before a TFC game at BMO But I'm sure whatever we get for a flat ride would be "Unique". But yeah, RMC for 2016 and new Coaster 2017 -

Just read through some older posts, and saw the naming rights and name ideas for Coasters. If it does end up being a Floorless then I can see it being called Mamba, but if it is a Winger then Ziz for sure. But if the plan for it being a MASSIVE coaster, then I see it opening for 2017 though. Because for sure footers would have been poured in by now if it was as big as Behemoth. But Floorless and Winged Coasters tend to be a bit more smaller and Footers NEED to be poured soon. When were footers poured in for Behemoth for sure though? I heard they were poured in the month of June. So maybe next month the footers would be poured in and Supports start arriving at the park on trucks (which would be interesting because we get to see what colour the ride would be) and being installed during the summer. Then the announcement in August. Tracks start arriving at the same time and start being installed throughout the winter and Station would also be built. Then testing would start maybe late February and continue until opening day next year. I think within this timeline, this ride can get done -

Ok, so my predictions for a B&M Blitz is off the table, it isn't happening, the layout looks a bit too big for one. But now I say either a Winged or a Floorless Coaster going in. Make things a bit interesting, Maybe the first Launched Floorless would be insane!!! But I'd be good with a Launched Wing Coaster. Either way, launched or Lift Hill both would be unique and have new elements designed into them. Also hoping for LOTS of inversions because there are so little coasters in the park that have inversions. So no doubt CF are aiming for that, but if they don't have them then I'd be a bit disappointed tbh.... -

Do you mean SFMM or SFDK? Sorry, I meant Magic Mountain. I was thinking about Great America at that moment I accidentally typed it in -

I don't see the hotel happening until much later into the coming years. The park is not at that caliber there, not yet at least. We need to still make more world class rides like at Cedar Point or SFGA in California.... -

(Lol Sorry, Post after Post I keep finding something interesting) But somebody mentioned on CWmania that there is a lot of grass and land ripped up around and between Behemoth and Minebuster. and Toronto Josh did mention on a vid on In-The-Loop that the rumor is it's supposed to interact with behemoth or/and go by the Hammerhead. OR maybe the RMC rumors are true for Minebuster.... and we'll get the Iron Horse treatment and Cedar Fairs are talking to RMC -

So I made a Layout myself using Google Earth. I know that the first Green Circle up top is supposed to be a keyhole element like Gatekeeper's. But I forgot what the second one is Red- Track Purple-Path & Brake Runs Yellow- Station Blue-Lift Hill Green Circles- I think it's a special element -

Vekoma is "made in China" coasters, Lol. But I'm hoping we still would get a descent sized Coaster that will fit the budget perfectly. -

Somebody on CWmania went to Wonderland today and didn't see the Bulldozer anywhere by Skyrider's spot. But now two more trees have orange Stakes beside them near that plot of land, and Blue and White flags are now spotted around Behemoth's Hammerhead Turnaround. It is rumored for the track layout to go near the Hammerhead, so it is an interesting thing to see those flags there. -

Ya, Ppl on CWmania said that it was for Splashworks. But I'm just wondering why it is parked further away from Splashworks, if it was for Spalshworks play area and entrance, wouldn't it be parked in Splashworks? -

Agree for sure on that! Right now, the closest one to me is nearly 10 hours away from me at la ronde Also, where did you see/hear about the cement truck? I kinda just skimmed through a few pictures posted above, and didn't notice one. It's in one of the pics, I saw a white one parked in the back round. -

Now knowing there is a cement truck at the scene, I'm hoping for those footers to be installed soon maybe within the next few weeks. Then in the early stages of the summer, some trees by WWC would start getting removed for more footers as it is rumored that the coaster would be running towards behind Behemoth's Hammerhead Turn. If there is footers being installed, then that 2016 coaster is all go for me. But I just hope it has inversions on it cause we are lacking that BIG time at the park. Also hoping a Zero G roll too cause there is no elements like that in the park... I'm also hoping it is a Floorless, or Winged. I'll be okay with a Blitz or a Dive Coaster. But anything else meh. I'm also making a long shot prediction for 2020. Seeing Time Warp getting moved to one of the smaller parks like Michigan Adventure or Valleyfair. Then the removal of Kingswood Theater too to make room for a B&M Flyer. Removal of those two places would make huge space for a Flyer and it can also be another out and back coaster like Leviathan. Just an opinion i'd leave here. Maybe Ziz isn't going to be the name of our 2016 ride if my prediction is correct... and it would go to the 2020 Flyer (as my prediction states) -

Yes please! I am not a season pass holder this year so I'm just waiting on others for info. But i'll be at the park for sure on June 24th with a friend of mine coming from Poland. So I'll go check it out myself too -

It was actually Licensing issues. Cedar Fairs didn't get the license to re-create the scene from Italian Job, meaning they weren't allowed to do it anymore, they were allowed a year or two after the purchase of Paramount's parks, but that's because it took some time taking out the propane tanks and pipes, etc. -

Ya, I forgot to mention, that they shouldn't take long to build and aren't Massive like Behemoth or Leviathan, but still awesome rides. I think their height would be similar to Flight Deck's Peak Height (i'm assuming). So it would make sense that they would start construction later than they did with Leviathan. So if they do start "real" construction by late June, then MAYBE we should start seeing Track pieces rolling into the park on flat beds, so keep an eye out Season Pass Holders who go most of the time. (I don't have a SP this year :/ so I can't really go in depth and have to see what's going on from the sidelines. Thank God we got Toronto Josh from In-The-Loop to do that for us, Credits to him) -

To me, Blitz Coasters are High intense, speed filled, G-Force, twisty coasters. Not all are Launched, most have a lift hill, but only one (only I know of) has a 90 Degree life hill straight up which is Fahrenheit at Hershey Park. But Why I mentioned a Blitz would be a good addition in the park is because of their unique Zero-G rolls and inversions. Wonderland is lacking in rides that go completely upside-down. Think about it. Only Dragon Fire, Flight Deck, and Time Warp (for all I can remember from last year) have inversions on them. SkyRider had one but that's gone as we all know. For that Wooden Coaster part that was mentioned. I think that Cedar Fairs should start ringing on RMC's doorbell for a deal and put an RMC upgrade on Wild Beast or Minebuster, (and if it happens the names would change to Wild Iron Beast or Mighty Canadian Ironbuster ). But like I said before. I can see B&M attempt making their very own Blitz Coaster and have their Prototype at Wonderland. Knowing that B&M do a good job on first timers, I can see them pulling it of and Killing Intamin's Blitz Coasters. -

Just read a really good point on CWmania's forum. Maybe they are removing old underground pipes under SkyRider's spot.... They did that before Leviathan's construction. Meaning the reason why that infamous "Lawn Sprinkler Truck" was at the park the other day. Also, what if SkyRider's spot isn't going to be the spot of the station.... Maybe it will be a place of an Element like a Turn Around, Helix, Cobra Roll, etc. Just a thought. But a very true point. But then where would the station go if project 2016 is a big or descent sized coaster? If Timber Wolf got removed I would see it maybe pushed there and the life hill would go above the Children Rides area and then having a turn around going into a bunch of Inversions over White Water Canyon and then Going in between the Wonderland Drive Enterance and Highway 400 (which is rumored) for a turn around going towards SkyRider's spot before hitting a break run into the station. I could see it being a Winged Coaster (not Gatekeeper size), Floorless, or a B&M first Blitz with a track layout like that. (played a lot of RCT3 and K'nex as a kid, so I have the imagination) But other than that, I don't see any other large space of land for a station... Unless they use the Firework viewing area, but I doubt it. If they were going to build a station in the Woody area by White Water Canyon, I would think they would have removed trees by now...
