  1. This tbh. It's not fair, but it's probably the truth. And it lines up with Dinos leaving around then.
  2. My inner rollercoaster tycoon yearns for a starflyer in Wild Thing's turnaround. Would be reminiscent of GoldStriker and the observation tower at CGA, and the curb appeal would be great!
  3. Looking forward to a new chapter!
  4. SFA's splash pad will probably blow ours out of the water.
  5. Agreed. There is the low-gravity zone (which gives me a floating feeling, but definitely not ejector), and the second hill I always seem to get a bit going up the hill, but it's gone by the crest. Then there's no air until the bunny hills on the way back, and the only hill that seems to have airtime consistently (for me) is in the tunnel.
  6. Low gravity =/= negative G's. I've learned from this forum that Wild Thing is a divisive ride. Some people love it, others are underwhelmed. I find it underwhelming, but that is because I always compare it to Superman: Ride of Steel (the SFA version), and that's just unfair given that one's an Intamin and the other is not. ...the heavy use of MCBR on Wild Thing certainly doesn't do it any favors.
  7. Dorney can take Wild One then, which should satisfy historians and the need for another wooden coaster--and Ragin Cajun too, why not There's no chance Six Flags would sell, but if they did and Cedar Fair bought it, then this park would be Geauga Lake 2 to strengthen the market for Kings Dominion.
  8. If Cedar Fair bought it, Roar and Wild One would be scrapped, MiA would Get Ride of Steel (finally a hyper!), Batwing would go to Worlds of Fun, Valleyfair would Get Jokers Jinx (full circuit launcher!) and Mind Eraser (to finally silence the invert demands) aaand Dorney would get Apocalypse (kidding, this would go to Worlds of Fun as a floorless conversion). No retheme to worry about
  9. I'm starting to think that Excalibur must have a generational appeal. While I have no love for it, my mother of all people finds it great! Weird. Agree about the dead ends of the park. Not much that can be done about it...maybe a chairlift?
  10. Totally pumped for chainwide singing mushrooms!!!
  11. ^^Valleyfair also has a lot of reorganizing to do to make any type of large expansion possible, and a lot more red tape to deal with to get there. All they can do now is basically infill, but if that plan for the new perimeter road and second entrance gets approved, the waterpark will be able to easily double in size in a few years.
  12. This is the Midwest. People drink beer. You'll learn why someday.
  13. ^^Technically Steel Venom can ONLY run one train...so is it even fair to count that?
  14. Or it could just indicate our own is possibly on the chopping block in the near future.
  15. With Worlds of Fun removing Thunderhawk, is there a possibility it may be moved again to Valleyfair or Dorney?
  16. I'm excited to see what Valleyfair will look like in 5 years. The waterpark could easily double in size once the flood plain issues, Excalibur and the access road are dealt with. In fact, I'm expecting it. The park will be so much better off.
  17. Does anyone else think the park may be planning something for their 40th next year? They did bring up the park's anniversary in the latest blog along with the original creators...I'm not expecting an expansion or anything big, but maybe they'll do some events or coaster celebrations?
  18. ^^I'm surprised Dorney isn't doing all that much better than Valleyfair considering their comparitively expansive waterpark and larger coaster collection. I think with continued investment in the waterpark, Valleyfair could easily get to Worlds of Fun numbers. Of course, the huge investment that's needed to make expansion even a possibility has been the biggest hold-up. Fingers crossed it gets approved!
  19. A B&M named Comet maybe? Comet, Asteroid, Extinction...it could work.
  20. I think we'll eventually see a full-circuit launcher in the very back of the park (I've got no timeframe in mind). As others have said, an invert up front is a perfect replacement for Dinos when that attraction goes. It's a no-brainer.
  21. Sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen.
  22. Valleyfair may be able to support an RV park with electric hookups. A lot of Cedar Fair parks have those. Of all the locations for a Larson flyer, I see the old Scrambler pad or the Corkscrew lawn being the most likely spots--assuming we get anything at all. Has anyone spotted anything from the Army Corps of Engineers? I want a definite answer as to whether we'll get that new perimeter road or not...it's difficult to speculate on anything with this limbo status lol
  23. Even a Talon clone would be wonderful. It's a layout unique in the Midwest and I see a lot of people on this site ranking Talon pretty high among inverts.
